Most likely it IS laden with antibiotics. Every turkey feed I have EVER seen has antibiotics in it, so all the "mainstream" growers of turkeys will be using it. As far as buying the organic variety, you have two choices: You can either find a turkey farm in your area that advertises that they grow it without antibiotics, etc... and go directly to them or find out what stores they offer turkeys in, or you can go to an organic foodstore, like Whole Foods, Wild Oats, etc... do a yellow pages search on Yahoo and see what you can come up with natural/and/or organic stores in your area. They will have the most natural and organic turkey available. Hope that helps
Yes, and hormones, too. Don't trust the free-range label on animal products; it's just so much greenwashing. It doesn't mean the animals lived blissful lives. It only means they had mininal opportunity to engage in natural behaviors.
There are veggie crumbles, which are more akin to beef, but you could cook with them instead of ground turkey.
For Thanksgiving, try a Tofurkey or create a veggie loaf.

The asker didn't ask for a vegetarian alternative so why are you trying to force your beliefs on them? It may not be the proper category but if you can't answer the question properly, you shouldn't be answering at all.

Of course it's the proper forum. Pollo-vegetarians is a valid designation, except with the fanatics on here. Also, us flexitarian vegetarians are on this forum as well.
I don't know if it's laden with antibiotics, but antibiotics are sometimes administered as preventative measures either by injections when "chicks" or later on in their water. The antibiotics are not necessarily in response to "poor conditions".
You might consider ordering a "natural turkey" from a small independent butcher shop. There is a difference and one of the few instances where "organic" does mean something. Order early.
