Why does a G-string not chime a "G" note when I twang it?!
Answers: Why do I keep getting a "B flat"....?
i don't know about the Bflat but the G string has always struck a special note with me
You are too loose! Go tighter!
Because it's cracked.
haha
That's not "natural".
Sounds like treble in your clefs.
because they're like granny panties
Hit it on the G spot
This will occur when the wearer has gained weight since she first bought the G-string. This causes the G-string to be tighter, and therefore vibrate at a higher frequency than it was designed for. At first glance this may seem strange, as a B flat is "lower" than a G; however, the note you hear is most certainly in the octave above the designed octave for the device, as this would make a difference of 1.5 notes. If the B flat you heard was in the same octave, that would be a difference of 5.5 notes! Unless the wearer recently lost 75 pounds, that is not very likely.
I would guess it is too tight or too loose.
Not tight enough.
Come over to my place and I'll help you practice. Bring a whole bunch and for time management I'll help you change.

Did you remember to fret the notes with your other hand?
Is it properly tuned? You may have to gain a little more on your A major to tighten up the G-string.
