Will I still get all my nutritional needs if i don't eat many veggies?!

Question: I eat heaps of fruit :) But, i don't eat many veggies. I don't take vitamins either...i've noticed that if i forget to take two in a row, i tend to get sick...no coincidence!

I'm a vegetarian, and breasfteeding - so its very important i get all my nutitional needs. I try to eat veggies high in iron & nuts when I can.

But iron aside, can i just eat more fruit? I'm a very, very picky eater...

Yes, you can. Although, you still should get 5 servings of veggies a day(like a carrot and cup of lettuce with a meal, since fruit isn't as healthy with meals)

Also, try new veggies and new ways of preparing them. Go to different stores(health stores), for variety.

Other tips
Beans are better than grains.
Wheat is bad.
Peanuts are bad. Eat the other nuts.
Milk is not right for adults. Get calcium from oranges, kiwi, berries, broccoli, yams.
Try eating vegetables raw, I think that would help.

Do you like veggie salads? I suggest you feed on them.
i would suggest not being a vegetarian then you need to like almost all the veggies mayeb not liking 5 is OK but definatly eat vitamins and drink milk for calcium and maybe some peanut but and nuts if you still want to stick to this lifestyle
Yes you can and there are fruits that have a veggy taste.
Such as tomatos. There's others but my mind fails to come up with them! Fruit is the most important thing to be a vegetarian.. here's the order.. Fruit, grains, seens, wheat, beans, veggies. Veggies are the least important excepting beets which have lots of iron. In other words eat beets especially if you're only going to eat one veggie beets are the answer. Eat the red and orange veggies! If you eat plenty fruit and eat the red and orange veggies and drink some herbal teas.plus the other things I said then you can be a healthy vegetarian. Myself I eat mostly fruit, veggie burgers,
and potatos sometimes carrots! You can experiment with veggies and cook them different ways and eventually you can find a way your body will accept them! I make fake fish with watemelon but my body just can't stand plain watermelon!
nope.
While fruit is good it tends to focus more on a different variety of nutrients. You definetly need to balance out what you are eating. Try more beans, miso soup, raw carrots, or make your favorite salad. Make sure you aren't eating the same thing over and over again.
In your particular instance I would say no. You need the nutrients in vegetables for yourself and your baby. Also, children tend to pick up the dietary habits of their parents, so you are setting your child up to eat unhealthily. Get over your pickiness for both of your sakes. Try differne ways of preparing and eating vegetables, and different varieties, until you find some you like. Even if you ate meat it wouldn't substitute for the nutrients in veggies.
It's hard to avoid vegetables, dose up on peanut butter, ask a nutritionist I can't give you a diagnosis. But as an aunt I suggest you do what you can to feed your baby in the most healthful way. While they're breastfeeding, is the most precious time they need the nutrients for them to grow muscle and bone mass. email me if you need more info.
