sorry, kid. You may be in trouble. I mean, the basics of vegetarian eating are beans, lentils, fruits and vegetables. Find a simple to understand vegetarian book, such as 'Vegetarian Eating for Dummies' I bought this for my daughter when she decided not to eat meat. It's important for you to understand why you need to eat vegetables. Maybe you just don't like the vegetables you've been served? You can also try different meatless foods that look like meat. There are two brands that my local grocery stores sell: Morningstar and Boca. My daughter loves to eat veggie corn dogs, veggie sloppy joes, veggie chicken nuggets. Go to the store with your mom and look for these things in the frozen food aisle. Then go to the library and look for a book you can read and understand about being a vegetarian.
I applaud you!
Eat bread and pastas.
my cousins the same way. she eats tofu, "boca" veggie burgers, "morning star" veggie bacon, etc. and yeah u can eat eggs and drink milk.

goog luck!!!
You definitely need to check out some vegetarian books. There's one called "Vegetables Rock" which is specifically geared toward teenagers. PETA has a good cookbook available. I think someone else mentioned Vegetarianism for Dummies or whatever- that's a good one too.

You are right to be concerned about the nutrition needs of your growing body. It's very easy to fall into the habit of eating vegetarian "junk" food after you cut meat out of your diet. When I first became a vegetarian many years ago, I practically lived off cereal, breads, cheese pizza, and chips because I didn't know what else to eat.

I do like some of the Boca and Morningstar products, because they taste great. I am concerned, though, because they are processed foods so not exactly "natural." I use them sparingly, like if we're grilling and I want to make myself a Boca burger. There's also a line of frozen foods called "Amy's" and everything they make is delicious. I understand, though, it might be hard to convince your parents to buy you those things.

Vegetables can be an acquired taste. I used to hate them too. The best thing you can do, and I know this sounds like a lot of work, is learn how to prepare them for yourself. I've learned how to steam, grill, and roast all kinds of veggies, and it's fun to experiment with different seasonings. I make stir fry and veggie fajitas every week, but I use different vegetables all the time so I don't get bored with it. If you would rather eat them raw, try some different dips- hummus is one of my favorites.

Just take it slow and do lots of research. Good luck!
If you think your beliefs are ethical, then you can start pursuing a healthy vegetarian lifestyle. Be sure to consult your parents about this, though, as they might feel concerned about your health (not that a vegetarian diet is unhealthy).
So, you don't like veggies? Well, surely you can't hate all types! When you go to your grocery store, pick out a selection of vegetables that you do like. Also, realize that even though you want to be a vegetarian, that doesn't mean you have to live on greens! Try cooking with tofu, seitan, beans or fake meats, there are plenty of options!
