Any societies that are mostly or exclusively vegetarian? Just curious?!

Question: I know that some tend cattle and only drink the milk and the blood, but don't usually kill.

Did you know that in the far north, the Inuit, Eskimos, Siberians, live mainly off meat? Did you also know that most of them don't live beyond the age of 45? Did you know that most people from India who are vegs in North America live to 88 or better? That is almost double. You don't need to be a frigging rocket scientist here boys and girls...

About half of India's population is lacto-vegetarian. Another 10% are lacto-ovo and 20% are occasional meat-eaters. Just the lactos and lacto-ovos together exceed twice the entire population of the U.S.

Rastafarians are a Jamaican group. They are not true vegetarians as they eat fish, but they come close. I had a Rastafari friend in college.

Then there are some Buddhist monks and Seventh Day Adventists who are vegetarians.

Google "The Farm"

"I know that some tend cattle and only drink the milk and the blood, but don't usually kill."

I think you're talking about the Masai people in Africa. I would hardly classify them as vegetarian, though. Lactohematarians, maybe.

India has a long tradition of vegetarianism, but you will still find a lot of Indians who eat meat.

The Hunza people of Pakistan.

i don't think so. scientists use their brains a lot. they need protein from meat to do it.

let the thumbs fly. yeaaah hahaha

edit: oops misread scientist for society. lol. in which case modern ascetics from india are purely vegetarian.

edit: brain development needs beta-catenin protein http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2...

Can't think of ANY.
I know Nomads eat nothing but meat.
