Are these Vegan?!

Question: I tend to live with vegan/vegetarian tendencies anyways. Sometimes, I'll take a time period, and designate that you complete animal friendly ways... for instance, i was vegetarian for a summer. I don't believe in it hard enough to do it all the time, but I figure it's nice to help the cause, and i like the food anyways. I think I'm gonna go vegan for a bit (maybe a month? the rest of semester? until thanksgiving? who knows.).

I'm in college, and my school dinning hall has some vegan options each day, but I was just wondering what "normal" food would also pass. So, of this list, what is vegan?

-Bagels
-Pasta ( i realize some kinds may be, some may not. gimme specifics)
-marinara sauce
-regular slices of bread
-peanut butter
-soy sauce
-olive oil

some of these may be obvious, but I'd like to double check! Also, do you believe foods like White Sugar to be vegan or not, since it's processed using the bones of animals? And do you eat gelatin, which is in a TON of stuff?

in my particular vegan diet-- only the last 3 would be acceptable

it doesn't sound like you are becoming vegan for any personal beliefs or health issues, so why dont you just give it up. man anything can be trendy now-a-days

Everything on your list is vegan. The white sugar too. Gealitn is not. that comes from crush bones from animals to make the product gel.

KGD is right!
-Bagels may contain eggs or milk or butter
-Pasta likely contain eggs
-marinara sauce...depends on the ingredients
-regular slices of bread, may contain egg or milk or butter

Gelatin is not vegetarian, let alone vegan.

If you are in college you have enough to do without screwing around with fussing about a diet. Your list is all healthy stuff ... why fool around with it.

i dont eat gelatin, only refined cane sugar is not vegan because it is colored with bone char,

bagels- no, most contain eggs
pasta- no most has eggs in it
marinara sauce- depends, some has ground beef
bread- depends
peanut butter- no, it has bug poop and ground up dead bugs in it
soy sauce- should be
olive oil- i dont see why not

Save your "brain power" for school and achieving good grades and enjoying the wonderful social life of college years instead of wasting energy on food foraging, luv. Enjoy your university years . . . they will be among the best memories you will have.
