Answers: I know gelatine is made from boiling animal bones. What do flavours come from?

If your food says "natural flavors" then yes, it may come from animals. Animals are "natural."

If your food says "artificial flavors" then the flavor does not come from animals.

You can always call or write to companies to ask if their natural flavors come from animals. Some may refuse to tell you. In that case, I refuse to buy their food.
:)

I don't know but I don't think that flavours com from animals

Can you be more specific.
My wife used to work at a colour factory, and there isn't anything i can think of that was animal based in the colours.
Flavours is too generic, since chicken builiion cubes might be considered a flavour, and it certainly contains chicken.

yea though i cant remember any except for a certain red colouring that comes from crushed up beetles...

i dont know what they come from but im pretty sure its not animals, just stay away from red coloring

Yes, both "flavors" and "colors" can come from animals. But the product labels usually aren't very explicit, so you'll need to contact the individual companies and ask what "flavor" means if it's something you're concerned with. PETA also has a list of ingredients that may be animal derived on their website. It's a helpful resource.

Natural flavors can mean animal. For more information go to: caringconsumer.com, once there enter ingredients in the search bar and you'll be taken to a page that lists animal ingredients.
