What are the dangers of soybean overconsumption?!
as for soy, i have heard about problems of overconsumption but i think overconsumption of anything can't be good for you. everything in moderation. also, i haven't heard or read that soy is bad for you from a RELEVANT and CITED source...just heresay and whatnot.
i think as long as you eat the reccommended amount of soy you should be fine.

If you are not allergic to soy, there only possible danger would be flatulence.
There is a lot of misinformation about soy. Foods seem to take turns in the misinformation spotlight, and now it's soy's turn. Carbs have recently stepped out of the spotlight.
I'm married to a clincial dietitian and I know for a fact that dietitians are not warning people about the "dangers of soy."
There is no actual evidence of soybean consumption but like most things high in protien you could look at Kidney stones and excess weight gain from the protien not being used and stored as fat. Only about 5% of your diet should be from protien. The american heart association recommends 25 grams of soy protien a day so I would stay around there. You also need a variety of protien such as vegetable protien, legumes, nuts, and seeds and if you are vegetarian dairy protien. It takes a whole lot of protien to over do it though. I'm talking over 100 grams a day.
You're asking the wrong people. The people here all believe that any bad press about soy is a meat industry conspiracy.
There are 2 camps in the soy debate. The ones that sell soy and it's products versus everyone else.
The anti-soy issue has been fueled by people involved in the meat and dairy industries.
Like all foods, soy should be eaten in moderation. But it is good for you, especially when you compare it to an alternative like meat or cow's milk.
Soy in its most unprocessed forms are best for you (ie. tofu and tempeh).
