Advice please!!! 4 Vegetarians coming to dinner?!

Question: and I was going to do (as promised, they will be expecting this) a garlicky - mixed wild mushrooms in a cream sauce in flaky pastry served with a warm spinach and courgette salad and garlic bread.
Please note they are Vegetarian NOT vegan, and they have no allergies so what should I do for a starter?
I have tons of tomatoes in my greenhouse still, i could make a fresh tomato and basil soup perhaps,
or an egg mayonnaise - would that be too heavy?
chocolate black cherry cheesecake for pud

you could server like a nice plater of fresh vegies that is all that i can think of right now sry

Well there are many different choices: How about Eggplant Parm with a salad & breadstix, or Bkd Ziti with no meat & a salad & breadstix, you can go mexican & do bean buritos with all of the veggie fixins & cheese & sourcream & have some spanish rice with it (just be sure to make sure on the back label that there is no meat seasoning in it), Cheese Quesadillas, All Bean Chilli & make some corn muffins with it. A portabello mushroom sandwhich with fries.

sounds good go for it .....for starter maybe feta cheese on bed of baby leaf salad drizzed with olive oil with olives for embellishment served on small plate with garlic cloves on side soaked in olive oil with small crusty breads or crackers with salted butter and wee tub of mayo or salsa on table if wanted ..enjoy forget the egg mayo

A personal favorite of mine (when I have fresh tomatoes) is a tomato/basil/mozzarella dish served over a sliced and toasted baguette. Here's the concept:

4-5 medium tomatoes / 1 bunch fresh basil / fresh mozzarella / olive oil / balsamic vinegar / salt / pepper.

On a deep plate alternate slices of tomato and mozzarella so they have a nice overlapping pattern. Finely slice the basil and scatter on top (you do want a fair amount of this). Drizzle with oil and vinegar. Then flavor with fresh ground pepper and salt.
Serve this with toasted rounds of baguette.

This is a party favorite at my house.

Make what you would normally eat, and they will have to like it, if you were going to a VEGGIE persons house they would not go out of their way to cook you a steak or a lamb chop, I have never been mad about meat, but I never expected my friends to do me a special menu if I visited, I would eat what was there that I liked.

The soup you described sounds like an excellent idea. I'd go with that.

Have a nice evening!

what about stuffed pepper...with cous cous.

Start with fresh carrot juice as a cocktail for appertizies raw oysters wich are full of zinc followed by a big salad with all different vegies and a waldolf salad buon apetit.
cheers this is only for raw food eaters.

How about fresh tomato salsa with bruschetta to start.

What a lovely meal. I would do the Soup. Heck I sure wish you wre my friend. ;-}

Slainté(to your health)

Oysters are not vegetarian!

I think your idea of a tomato basil soup would be a lovely start to this meal. I would put out the garlic bread with the soup, then leave it out for the main course.

Alternatively, you could start with a nice tomato bruscetta and drop the garlic bread from the main course. This would really feature your fresh tomatoes to their fullest. Garlic bread might be a bit heavy to eat alongside a creamy pastry dish anyway.

Looking over your menu, I don't see any source of protein. Consider including sliced fresh mozzerella with the bruscetta. Also consider adding chick peas to the spinach and courgette salad.

Your home, your rules. These vegans (whatever) will start treating your place like a hotel if you start accommodating as such.

the soup sounds fab, i would go with that but

if you wanted to try something else what about a mini pea risotto- with roasted tomatoes in balsamic dressing

brushetta?? diced tomatoes, basil, and crumbled cheese served with bread..

EVer had it at Olive Garden?

4 16oz steaks With a side salad,

firstly vegitarans don't eat egg because I am vegitaran and I know what vegitaans eat because last time i was cooking and every one liked it. don't eat:
I DON'T EAT EGG
I DON'T EAT MEAT
I DON'T EAT FISH
I DON'T EAT SAUCGES AT ALL!!!
SO BEAR IN MIND !!!
