Veggie life?!

Question: Who out there is vegetarian? Are you the only vegetarian in your family or is your whole family vegetarian? Do you have any favorite vegetarian or vegan foods? What, in your opinion, is the best thing about being a vegetarian?

I am a strict vegetarian. My husband and I are the only vegetarians in our families. In fact, we are the only vegetarians we know.

My favorite foods are sandwiches, whether they are just plain old tomato, avocado, and lettuce on bread with mustard or burgers made with some of the yummy burgers available (I just had a vegetable marsala burger from Trader Joe's for lunch.

I also love tacos. My favorite right now are Chipotle's with black beans and rice drizzled with chipotle honey dressing and topped with guacamole and fresh salsa. I make tacos at home all the time, too.

The best thing about being a vegetarian is feeling healthier and knowing I'm eating closer to the way that Nature intended. I like knowing that the way I eat and the choices I make in the products I buy has far less impact on animal suffering than it used to.

P.S. Good for you for being a vegetarian! It's such a good thing.

I am vegetarian, my wife is Vegan, and my in laws are vegetarian. My fave is, pasta with spicy bean burger, broccoli, asparagus and mushrooms with melted vegan cheese. The best thing is knowing that we don't support animal cruelty and that we live healthy positive and happy lifestyles.

My whole immediate family is vegetarian and most of the people I know follow a pretty-much vegan diet (at least to the exclusion of meat, dairy, and eggs). I'm actually the least vegan of them all.. I freely admit to still eating cheese and dairy and cakes, etc with eggs in them..

My favorite food has always been and always will be Spaghetti. I also love rice with tofu and sweet 'n' sour sauce eaten with seaweed (korean Style). And of course..Pizza!! Light on the cheese (or leave it off for all I care), HEAVY on the sauce, please. Maybe a sprinkling of mushrooms or green peppers if I'm in the mood.

The beset thing about being veg*an is how much it broadens your horizon. Really makes you get out of your "meat and potatoes" typical western mindset and explore the wonders of curries, jabche, mandu, and other indian and asian dishes. That has been the most rewarding part of being veggie, for me...

I'm a vegtable- -narian. My family has always been health conscious. Got a couple of cousins that are.

i'm the only one in my family, the rest of my family is from the midwest and LOVES meat... i can barely eat with them anymore!! <3

Me and my sister are vegetarians
Favorite food : veggie stir fry with baked tofu over brown rice
Best thing : The way I feel physically

I'm the lone vegetarian in a family of carnivores/omnivores. My favorites include anything Indian/South Asian/curry-based. One thing I like about being vegetarian is that I find most vegetarian dishes very east to prepare.

in my family, my brother and i are vegetarian, my parents and sister are pescatarian, and my dog is an omnivore. my favorite foods are mexican, like cheese enchiladas, rice and beans, chips and salsa, though i also really like mediterranean foods, like hummus, pastas and olives. i dont really have a favorite thing about being veg, though i had a much more sense of peace (i guess?) when i was vegan, so im trying to get back to that.

One of my kids is vegetarian and I think another is going to choose to be soon.

Potatos, I love em in every form.

To be a healthy, loving guy.

1. I'm a vegetarian.

2. Me, my mother (vegetarian after me), and my aunt (vegetarian before me) are vegetarians. My cousin (with veg mom) stopped eating most meat (only eats fish) after I became a vegetarian. So about half of my close family are vegetarians... and all for different reasons.

3. My favorite vegetarian meal is Veg Chili made with mostly Blackeye Peas. My favorite fast-food item is now Taco Bell's Cheesy Bean & Rice Burrito.

4. The best thing, in my opinion, about being a vegetarian is the health benefits.

OK, Im sorry, but i would rather be dead than be a vegetarian. No offence to you guys but really. Meat is a part of life and thats who i am.
