As a vegan, which is more acceptable?!

Question: Produce that's fertilized with manmade chemicals or fertilized with rendered animal parts/manure?

Answers: Produce that's fertilized with manmade chemicals or fertilized with rendered animal parts/manure?

I believe that any leftover animal by-products should go back into the soil, so they may as well help grow crops where they are needed most.

Same goes for cow sh*t, but I do think that it should be allowed to rid itself of E.coli before it goes anywhere near our food.

Both of these products are better than synthetic fertilizers when compost isn't an option.

I think it depends on why you are a vegan - a lot of hippy vegans that think it is kinder to the earth and don' want pollution and what not would probably settle for the natural fertilizer - but vegans that don't like to eat faces would probably go for the man made. Given the choice though I think all vegans would prefer composted plant material.

I think most vegans realize that they have to pick their battles. Once people get a clue that eating animal proteins are a significant cause of cancer, heart disease, and diabetes and they stop eating it and ranches and slaughterhouses stop raising and killing animals for food then there will be less manure and rendered animal parts to be used as fertilizer.

I would like the combo pack.

i would personally prefer manmade chemicals i dont want bits of pig crap and guts on my carrots, thats just sick!

Hmmmm... food covered in carcinogens or cow s***?

Not a vegan... but give me the chemicals. I'll wash the produce either way, but it's hard to get the image of doo-doo veggies out of your head.

Buying organic foods is best for vegeterians, although you should eat some meats cause some people become anemic that stops eating meats that use to eat meats.

Well if you are a "true" vegan, you will only eat produce where the grower fertilizes by taking "dumps" is his/her garden. It can be a family bonding experience.
