Whats the difference between a vegetarian and a herbivore?!

Question: as above...

Answers: as above...

Herbivores don't digest meat well. It makes them sick. Vegetarians just choose not to eat meat - whether it be for health reasons, animal rights, etc.

none that i can think of.. both eat plants.. i think vegetarian is human and herbivore is other organisms

Vegetarians only have two legs.

herbivore is meant more for like... an animal, they eat raw plants are roots and stuff

vegetarian is humans who eat vegetables, beans, etc... just no meat or animal products.

i think they are the same thing, but when your talking about an animal, you call it a herbivore, and when you're talking about a person you call them a vegetarian

a vegetarian willeat things such as eggs and a herbivore won't eat anything except stuff that is grown from the grownd

Vegetarians are people that choose not to eat meat even through they are physically designed to benefit nutritionally from it.

Herbivores are animals that are designed specifically to eat plant matter, and typically digest it better than their vegetarian cousins.

When I say designed, it can mean intelligent design or designed by evolution, I'm not trying to make that argument.

A vegetarian is typcially an omnivore (plant and animal eater) who chooses to only eat plants. An herbivore, as a species, only eats plants.

a vegetarian chooses to not eat meat but probably could if they tried. herbivores can't eat meat, like if an ancient herbivore dinosaur tried to eat meat, their stomach acids couldn't digest it properly. sorry that was a really bad example...

A herbivore can't help it. they have to eat nothing but plant material, because they are genetically adapted to do so.

A vegetarian is a human who has made a choice not to eat meat.

okay well. even in my drunken state tonight ...... an omnivore eats both meat and plants (vegetables/fruits) a vegetarian does not eat meat at all. That is defination in a nutshell. The people who answered above me are eitehr drunk(er) or high because they have no idea WTF they ar talking about!

herbivore can't digest meat and only eats green food like grass, leaf.
vegetarian can eat meat only they do not want to/have allergies to meat/or a trauma on seeing human flesh look like meat, they cant eat grass and leaf (duh?lol!) unless it is vegetable.

herbivores teeth are all flat. we have canines or cuspids which are designed for tearing things like meat.

A vegetarian CHOOSES to refrain from eating flesh.
An herbivore eats only vegetable matter because she was built by nature to only do so.

I think vegetarian implies choice. the -arian suffix is generally used to imply moral stances. the herbivore implies a characteristic that is not chosen, ivore meaning literally eater of. its a classification of a characteristic that is not chosen.

Herbivore is thre term not used for humans instesd animals mostly quadruples while as vegeterian is appropriate for humans who just go for vegetables though they can take any .

herbivores cannot eat meat..it'll make them sick..

vegietarians just choose not to.

a herbivore is mainly used towards animals.
also, a herbivore is something/someone that
cannot eat meat.

a vegetarian is a human that chooses not to eat meat, whether
they want to or not.

Vegatarian can drink milk, eat eggs, amoung other products. Herbovoires ONLY eat plants and edible flowers.
