I am a former chef and they are not toxic, in fact they are used for the production of avocado oil.

Like olives they are ground with over ripe fruits and pressed to extract the oil, I have used it along with almond, macadamia and grapeseed oils

You can't eat the pits of avocados! so they are not poisonous.

No, because If you m,ake homemade guacamole if you put the pit in the middle the flavor will be fuller.

i don't know about poisonous, but hard pits probably have something in them that you shouldn't eat ... at least apricot pits are like that.

better to use the avocado pit to grow a tree indoors. they're easy to grow and all they need is a window with not too much direct sun.

Well, I bet it'd be deadly if you tried to swallow it whole!

Well, I bet it would be deadly if someone smashed it into the side of your head with a baseball bat.
