I totally agree with you. I'm all for saving endagered species but I think going vegan is overkill. We as humans need protiends and irons from meat that we can not get from anywhere else. I think that vegans are just plain annoying. It's not like any meat eaters are telling them to stop being a vegan. So why should they tell us to stop eating meat. They have to realize that we each get to make our own decisions and to respect that.

2 words; Meat Envy

they do it for the same reasons atheists and Christians argue, or blacks take offense at most of the stuff whites say. i think its just human nature, and the fight for supremacy.

idk if some people didnt eat meat then well the cows and stuff would over populate.

the deer would end up hurting more people
killing them
i think vegans are selfish
they would rather hurt other people
than a lousy cow..
but whatever.

You're opening up a BIG can of worms my friend.

i agree its just some people have stronger thought over that kinda stuff.
u kno?

i agree with you.
but when i think about it, i can see why some chosse not to eat meat.

I don't know why vegetarians put down meat eaters but they can complain in my ear while I eat a big fat juicy steak. I am an animal lover but I believe that some animals were meant to be eaten. Just because I eat meat doesn't mean that I can't go out and be an animal rights activist. I care about animals, just not the ones I eat. Chickens, cows, and pigs, yummmmm. I don't put down people that are vegetarians because everyone has their preference.

i am not a vegetarian, but i do know that most meat available is not good for us. they give the animals antibiotics, and growth hormones. a better idea would be to buy organic meats.

I'm a carnivore but I don't begrudge a vegetarian's point of view. It would be a much nicer world if we didn't slaughter helpless animals in cruel conditions comparable to Dachau. Nevertheless, even though I don't feel great about it, I have limited tastes and hamburger is my main diet.

I think it's because too many of them listen to the PETA wackos.

because they just want people to stop eating meat, which sort of annoys me its part of the life cycle plus if we didn't then how would we grow? we would just become weaklings from lack of iron and all the people whom i know only eat vegetables are probably the weakest people i have met in my entire life, i mean come on people have to eat, its not like we are doing a crime or anything.

people always like to put down others that have different viewpoints than themselves.. You see it in all aspects of life, like social, political, religious etc...
I am of the opinion that if you want to eat meat, eat it, if you don't, don't!... Our bodies can handle it, just in moderation.. not like eating a 16oz steak though.. Doctors and nutritionists say a serving of meat should equal about a deck of cards.. a couple of ounces...

Ah, take it with a grain of salt. My ex was a vegetarian and she would say, "How can you eat that flesh?" I would say, "mmmmm, because it's delicious!"

lol Well why are meat eaters always putting down vegetarians?
I personally just don't like the taste of meat. It doesn't digest easily and can be very hard on your system. As humans we don't really need meat in order to survive, you can get all of the nutrients that you get from meat by taking vitamins and eating vegetable, fruits, beans, etc that have similar properties.
Also, with the human population as high as it is we will not be able to continue to live off of meat. That's just a fact of supply and demand.

Why do meat eaters put down vegetarians?

Look in this section any day of the week and you will find it.

hey, if you like eating dead corpses, be my guest. Just don't forget that you are inflicting a lot of suffering on other living beings so you can eat them. There was a time we took care of animals we ate, but now we just "farm" them. Meaning we impose them to a life of pain and torture, and then ruthless slaughter. All that so we can feast on some dead corpse. Does that make any sense? In addition, we make ourselves sick too by eating all those growth hormones and other sh*t we put into those poor animals. Eating meat does not make any sense at all. You can get all your proteins, vitamins and minerals from other sources, without all those harmful toxins that are found in meats. Think about it....

Vegetarians have strong convictions over this (like myself), because we know that human beings do not need meat to survive. Slaughtering animals for food is useless in today's world. There are so many other things you can eat and get the right nutrients from. All you're doing to yourself by eating meat nowadays is fueling health problems like heart disease and cancer.

i eat meat everyday. juicy delicious beef/chicken/fish/lamb/cow/ .. did i leave anything out

First of all, you are assuming that all vegetarians are the same. You must realize, that within any group of people, there are some people who are one way, and some who are another.
I was a vegetarian for four and a half years, and I still do not eat a lot of meat. This has more to do with the fact that I love and appreciate animals and do not think they should be killed so that I can eat them. So many animals are treated so cruelly that I can not justify eating them just to satisfy an urge.
It is true that you can get certain things from meat, such as iron and protein. But it is also true that you can get just as much iron and/or protein by eating the right vegetables as you can a slab of steak.
As far as talking to lions about eating other lions, I think we all know that human beings are a little higher up on the intelligence chain than most wild animals. We have the ability to reason, for one. But we also have the ability to plant veggies, make bread, create foods that do not include other animals. Lions do not have such a convenience. We are supposed to be further evolved than they are. We are using our brains to create new and "friendlier" ways to survive.
I personally do not put down meat eaters. I just choose to eat as little meat as possible.

first off, i don't eat fish. second, i don't eat meat because it just feels harsh. i know it's the way life works in nature and all, but i just don't feel comfortable eating something that was once alive. if animals was killed humanely i wouldn't feels AS bad, but i've seen how they keep chicken locked up, and there's this butchering place where they hang them upside down for the blood to drain to their heads...why would anyone do that? and killing pigs? ok, here's something to think about: meat-eating people love their dogs and say they're man's best friend, but PIGS ARE SMARTER THAN DOGS. so why not eat dogs then? that's pretty hypocritical. the world would be really messed up if nature didn't kill off each other....but i just can't bear being a part of it. i don't discriminate against people who eat meat, but i can't stand it when they feel sorry for animals...it's just hypocritical.

watch this, and watch the whole thing. thats why people don't like to eat the meat because they have watched something like this. you can't tell them its not true. they have proof.

The vegetarian vs. non vegetarian debate is just like any religious debate, each side thinks they are right and the oppossing side is satan. Then there are the level headed people on each side who don't care what the other side does as long as they aren't trying to push their views on them. What I'm saying is that, do what you want and don't try and push your beliefs on others.

Vegans, and many vegetarians, are fanatics, and it is the nature of fanatics to attack those who oppose them.

One widely accepted definition of a vegan is: An underweight fanatic with flatulence and bad breath.

Doc

well jd it is like vice-verse you people that dont eat meat put people down for eating meat

I'm not actually a full vegetarian, I do eat meat sometimes, but I try to limit my meat intake, so I feel like I can see both sides, (and obviously don't put down meat eaters.) I am not a full vegetarian because I don't think that eating meat is wrong in some cases, and because I'm more interested in doing something I think is good than making a statement.

I think being a vegetarian is good for the following reasons:

a) while I don't have a problem with meat that is, for instance, hunted from the wild, the way that meat is produced and processed is disgusting. Also, there are a lot of (human) labor issues within meat plants if you research it.

b) It's more environmentally friendly to eat less meat.

c) Being vegetarian is often healthier than eating meat IF it is a well planned vegetarian diet.

d) I have absolutely no problem with people that hunt to feed their families. I think that there is a huge difference between hunting vs raising and processing meat on huge farms. And that people should eat what is available to eat. I have and always will put humans before animals.

That's a generalisation - I'm a vegetarian and I don't put down meat eaters. In fact I'm about to marry one! I also don't think it's 'wrong' to eat meat, just unhealthy, both for the consumer and for the planet. It's easy to find scientific reasons to avoid meat. The British Journal of Cancer published an article (see source below) in April this year which you may find interesting. I'm sticking to my veggies, fruits, nuts and legumes, thank you! But I won't put you down if you want to eat meat - I think that we're lucky that we can pick and choose what we eat!

Why do you feel you have to justify your decision? Do you feel you need everyones approval to feel better about yourself? The fact is a vegetarian diet is healthy and there is nothing you are deprived of in eating a balanced vegetarian diet. It is also natural for us to be herbivores unlike lions who are meant to be carnivores. Try doing some research from a respectable source and not some anti-vegetarian cliche web sites before you try to start putting down vegetarians. In doing this you are no better than those you claim put you down.

As a vegetarian,I always hear all the opinions about needing meat to survive and how natural it is.I've also taken a lot of **** for not being a vegan. The truth is I do what works best for me and so should everyone else.

Because you post crap like this on a vegetarian/vegan board that's why!
Why do you seem to need our approval of yourself? If you are OK with your choices why are you going onto a vegetarian/vegan board to start trouble? If you want to know why people chose to not eat animals look it up it has been ask at least 20 times already.
