Question: please tell me or give an estimate- rough or exact!!!!

Answers: please tell me or give an estimate- rough or exact!!!!

polls show about 6 percent of a population is vegetarian, and there are 6.6 billion people in the world. So there are roughly 400 million vegetarians in the world.

Yeah, it's very difficult to even guess if you ask me. Statistics are usually very highly inaccurate and grossly altered for the benefit of their use.

Most people in the world really do not eat very much in terms of animal products. In the world, generally people are using grains as their staple, then vegetables, then animal products are added as flavour. Very few people pig out on animal products as is done in N. America. Even across the water in Europe you will not find people having a diet anything similar to that of the average N. American. Many people in the world eat meat, once a week, but so... are they to be included in the vegetarian statistic for those days? Does being 100% really matter? I think, at the current stage of abusing the world, we should at least start with getting the majority to just stop pigging out.

In Hong Kong nearly everyone abstains from animal products twice a month on the first and fifteenth... lots of religions abstain for certain days of the month too; maybe we should create a statistic based upon how much or how often animal products are consumed. Where I live, just 15 years ago few had heard the term vegan or knew anything about vegetarianism and why anyone would do that, now, everyone I know knows people who are vegan or vegetarian. Co-workers, classmates, friends, girlfriends, mothers, fathers, aunts... more and more every day if you ask me.
