How come vegetarians look so sick?!

Question: Their eyes, they look zombie like. I mean, they're crazy.

Answers: Their eyes, they look zombie like. I mean, they're crazy.

Look into my black and soulless eyes.

I want to eat your brains so badly but I can't, cuz golly brains ain't vegan.

Is it okay if I just bust your skull open and take photos of the contents? Pwitty Pweez?

emo_rican, eh?
The intelligence displayed by your use of shallow labels is quite impressive.

That's not the look of sickness, that's the look of annoyance.

A true Vegetarian, one that has researched the proper way to eat vegetarian is not unhealthy looking. It is the ones that think they are vegetarian and think they are eating healthy.

I look totally healthy. In fact, I have never met a sick looking vegetarian unless they really were sick.

Okay, what everybody thinks is that us vegetarians NEED meat or we look all dead and zombie-like. No. People have NO IDEA I am vegetarian or vegan until I tell them. People need to get it in there heads that we DON'T need meat or animal products to survive, we never have, we never will. I don't weigh less than average, I don't look sick or sallow, I don't look like I'm dying, and I don't ever feel sick or "under the weather". And we're not crazy. We have more sense than 99.9% percent of the people on the face of the earth. And anyone who tries to argue with me is gonna get a whole faceload of wrong.

Our family went vegan about three weeks ago. Those of us who needed to lose weight have done so. The kids have gained weight on it, just as they are supposed to. Our son looks so much better after being on vegan eating for this time period. My daughter's green nasal dischard has disappeared (sorry for the gross detail there).

It really gets my hackles up when people say things like this about vegetarians. I can point to many meat-eaters who look like they were just dug out from a grave. I agree with those who said that if the vegetarians look sickly it's probably because they aren't planning for their diet properly.

I have been vegan for 15 years and have not had to go to a doctor in all that time. I look healthy and give blood every eight weeks. They test my iron each time, too. I'm sure if I was not healthy, I could not give blood. I might save your life one day. Be nice!

Because you've never seen them and that is your perception of them. Grow up and stop stereotyping.

Because they are tired of hearing idiotic comments like yours.

I've never seen a sickly looking vegetarian/vegan, and most of my friends and family (including myself) are veg.

FUNNY, THE ONLY SICKLY, MISERABLE, FAT ,LAZY @SS PEOPLE I HAVE EVER SEEN,,, WERE MEAT EATERS.

You need to meet more people. I don't eat meat and I'm sure that if you passed me in the street, you wouldn't know the difference. My hair is shiny, my eyes are sparkling and my nails are strong. I feel energetic and I think I'm perfectly sane. I only know 4 people with mental health problems and they all eat meat - but I wouldn't suggest that it's related to their diet. Breast and bowel cancer have been linked to red meat consumption but I don't know about craziness. Will have to watch out for studies in the future.
Paul McCartney and Pamela Anderson look pretty healthy as far as I can see!

I'm not a vegetarian but I disagree. I know several vegetarians and they all look exceptionally healthy. Most of them seem to know more about nutrition than the average person, so they look after themselves. In some countries, most people are vegetarian. Provided you increase the bulk of food you eat, make sure you get all your B vitamins and essential amino acids, a vegetarian diet is healthier, much cheaper and much more environmentally friendly than one containing meat. Guys like you and me who eat meat should thank vegetarians for helping to look after our environment.

Oh for the love of mike, this is a wonderful new twist on an age-old trollish question. Yeah, me and my crazy zombie eyes. Whatever. I'm not sick and I don't look sick. Perfect strangers stop me on the street to compliment my skin which leads me to believe that I look healthy. Then there's the fact that I AM healthy, which further leads me to believe that I look healthy. How many vegetarians are you basing your ridiculous assertion on, anyway?

That's hysterical, cause I noticed that while I am easing up on my weight loss (though far from stick thin), my daughter has finally put on weight after being the same weight for the last 2 years!

because they are malnourished.

It's not just the eyes, it's their pasty white completion that makes them look like they haven't been out from under the rock for years.

Because they need meat!

Veggies don't have any fat, therefore if they don't supplement their diet to include fat, they can look thin and frail

Its because some vegetarian did not take enough vegetarian choice of supplement, also another note for vegetarian out there, tofu and other vegetarian supplement pills is a must esp for the strict ones, cause certain form of minerals, vitamins etc cannot be found in vegetable alone. Lack of which makes one looks sick.

because they don't eat meat and without meat proteins they are all sick

because they dont eat meat so they don't have the nutrition they need to be truly healthy, girls are just veggies because they want to lose weight and be skinner without being called anorexic
