Eating meat doesnt affect weiht gain but it affects your body because when these animals are raised they are given hormones and pesticides. These hormones contain harmful ingredients which you eat when your are consuming meat, the hormones enter your body and affect your health. In my own personal opinion a becoming vegan is a big sacrifice, and I think you might want to become one for all the wrong reasons. If you want to become vegan for ethic or health reasons it will be easier to commit but if youre doing it just to lose weight it will probably be temporary. I know people though that do it for a few months and then go back. Some vegan foods are packed with calories just like regular food, just because it is vegan doesnt mean its healthier. There are different kiinds of vegans the most strict is the vegan that cannot eat foods containg animal products like honey, meats, poultry, fish, anything containing dairy, eggs and refined foods. I would reccomend also a raw food diet, that is really healthy and go for organic meats and products since these dont contain herbacides and pesticides. Hope this helps you but if you are really commited to becoming vegan and have any more questions feel free to send me an email with any questions. Good Luck!

Most vegetarians weigh more because they have to eat more food to supply the benefits meat can give you in a smaller portion...

So if I were you I wouldn't go vegetarian yet, until you've met your goal.

Just eat healthier meats, and organic meats.

Try substituting Morning Star Farms veggie crumbles in place of hamburger meat for things like spaghetti sauce or tacos. It taste alot like ground hamburger and has less calories. But if you are serious about losing weight, I strongly suggest counting calories each day. Eat around 1200 calories daily and you should lose weight pretty easy.

replace meat with beans..a lot of protein and low lowwwwwww fat..

wELL to start maybe you should try giving yourself smaller portions of the meats and more of vegetabls and fruit. This will help you lose weight healthly and also help you decide if vegetarianism is really right for you.

You're way too worried about it. It's not really a big change. You just need to make a commitment and stick to it.

Weight depends more on content than on veg/nonveg. If you remove meat and replace it with junk food, you'll gain weight. If you remove meat and replace it with healthy items, you won't.

Most recipes can be made vegetarian by removing or substituting.

meat is a protein food ,it's what you eat with it that adds the calories , processed foods contain a lot of sugar (carbohydrates) which if they are not used up will be stored as fat in your body ,cut back on the sugar and eat fresh fruit and veg and you'll feel a lot better .

Well, I am a vegetarian and I don't eat meat or fish. Anything breathing is off-limits for me. :) You can eat anything made by Boca or Morning Star but that is nowhere near all there is. Those are just 2 of my favorite brands. If you like ribs, the best vegetarian ribs I have found are Gardenburger BBQ Riblets (veggie riblets) These taste exactly like ribs. I just became a vegetarian last year. (I am 13) I thought becoming a vegetarian would be hard but I have found it extremely easy.

Be careful when looking for soups. Most of them are made with chicken stock. A good veg friendly soup is Progresso Light Italian-Style Vegetable (or any other veggie based Progresso.)

If you know where to look, there is a veggie substitute for any food. I personally like Cedar Lake Vegi-Scallops.

I hope this has helped you a bit. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions or want more suggestions! Good luck. :)
