So I am a vegetarian - I feelsick today and I am not sure if it is from undercooked eggs at breakfast?!

Question: I had a early dinner at the fud - I ordered a veggie burger with grilled onions - does anyone know if these are all cooked on the same grill as the meat - not sure what is causing my illness (breakfast eggs or contaminated veggie patty). This is why I should go vegan - no eggs and no fast food places...Thanks

you can get food poisoning from just about anything these days. I strongly doubt its because the veggie patty is contaminated. there can't possibly be enough contamination to make you sick. it could be the egg but just make sure its cooked well. I don't think you should go vegan because then it is so much harder to get your necessary protein intake plus its just so much harder to keep that kind of diet. also there is nothing wrong with eating eggs, milk, and other such foods. why deprive yourself of the good stuff.

Go without the eggs!

it's not the eggs... keeping in mind that you can eat eggs raw

You can eat eggs as a vegetarian?

Well, anyway, it could be either one. Food places tend to not cook on a different surface for veggie burgers. Eggs carry salmonella, which can make you sick.

Your kidding right?
First I'd like to say that your eating habits are your choice, and I don't condemn anyone for being vegetarian or vegan.
But your body is made to process proteins. Why would you think that a little residue from meat would make you sick?

well first of all, shouldn't eggs violate your vegetarian diet? I mean after all, it is still an animal that just not born yet. But now onto your question. Yes, most restaurants do not offer another grill for vegetarians so the onions you ordered were probably grilled on the same grill they grilled meat. That might have had some sort of effect on you because you haven't eaten meat in a very long time. Either that or it's the eggs, eggs can be tricky to cook so leaving them undercooked like that can lead to illness

there are many reasons you can get food poisoning and many reasons for becoming Vegan.
you get to choose :-)
my reason was for compassion for all the animals

why does it have to be food based? Do you know how many viruses are out there? It's really quite irritating the way people automatically assume that their illnesses are because of food poisoning. Did you wash your hands thoroughly? Did you sanitize the silverware? I'm sorry you have a tummy ache, but grow up, deal with it , and stop blaming everyone elsefor your problems.

When I had my restaurant I cooked the burgers on the same grill.
It might be that. I doubt if it was the eggs.

As others said, there are lots of reasons for getting sick. I got a really bad upset stomach from not washing grapes well enough once. Not to mention onions are sometimes hard on the digestive system anyway. I'm remembering that scene in "The Crow" where the little girl was like "No Onions...They make you fart big time!"

But I agree that cutting out fast food may help. Even if it's veggie, they still use saturated fat and hydrogenated oils which are bad for you.

Flu but hits vegetarians as well

Maybe the veges in your burger had e.coli? Why point at meat?

Undercooked eggs won't make you sick and the minute traces of animal that MAY have touched your veggie burger won't make you ill either.

Maybe you aren't getting the nutrients you need that you don't get from meat? Could be many different things. Why blame meat?

It's probably due to lack of meat in your diet.
