Is there any truth to live animals going directly to rendering plants?!

Question: Is this quote from a post true?

"I read a review of "Fast Food Nation" that mentioned cows soiling themselves in fear as they enter the rendering plant. It wasn't the soiling (feces) that got to me, it was the abject terror of the poor animals."

Is this true or is somebody spreading false propaganda, be it the poster or the poster's source?

well you got the plant wrong,,, rendering is the waste recycling
You are referring to the slaughter house where they prepare the carcase for the meat industry.
I have seen the documentary on meat packing. and I understand part of your problem..rather overwhelming..
But the segment extracted by peta
Was staged and the steer was allowed loose to flop about in a disgusting manner (a violation of laws).
When your company has tons of livestock to process the animal must be kept under control.. IF there is a better way then stop pouting and explain.
EDIT the slaughter house has all the government inspectors on staff daily. an animal may deficate as it is being killed BUT in NO way can it contaminate the meat . the sanitation there is extensive ..
Hundreds of TONS of prepared meat of all kinds are required around the world daily..
V&V's may abstain and PLEASE help with the monitoring the humain LAWS on the books.
BUT please complaining does nothing and the peta groups lie, destroy, and are hypocrits.
PS: The soiling thing... Have you ever watched the TV documentrys on lions,,, most all prey defacate in the attempt to distract the attacker ...

Picking up on a couple of words rather than understanding the intent of the answer is padantic and childish.

Most people can see past that and focus on the intent.
Its an adult skill.

Normal people would have assumed the word "slaughter" and moved on.

And no, before you ask, i haven't provided you with a link that shows i didn't say something. For the n'th time, thats impossible

Hey Me!

It sounds as if it may be twisted propaganda but I am not sure!

I had a bad football weekend so I am officially mourning! At least Ohio State won!

I believe the way meat gets covered in cow crap at the rendering plant is when they cut into intestines when they're cutting the meat. I have heard it happens all the time and if you do a fecal count on processed meat you would find much of it contains feces. They also feed cows a food that contains cow crap and ground up tumors and awful stuff flike that (not often grass like we'd like to believe in our happy little imaginations).

It is true that animals soil themselves at slaughter, though.
Absolutely barbaric = the practice of butchering and eating animals

That's where they render them unconscious and then they render their bodies into pieces.

omg mike L..if thats what u have to tell urself to sleep at night. now to get back to the real world. if meat wasnt contaiminated by fecal matter...then why can you take a piece of meat into a micro lab and find it? thats just the strangest thing! anyways it is true, its not propoganda. what do these people have to gain but the bettering of millions of lives. if anyone is going to lie it will be those who are invovled in the meat industry and those who choose to believe whatever false-truths they want to believe. im not a vegan for fun, i do it because i think its right.
