First, don't focus your energy on negative people. Your lifestyle choices have nothing to do with your weight. On the flip side, if you would like to loose weight, and that's your own personal decision, I would increase your lean protein (beans, tofu, fat free cottage cheese & yogurt, etc) and decrease your high calorie proteins (cheese) and white starches. A lot of people think that being a vegetarian means you're healthy, and that's not true. Everything needs to be done in moderation. Try some quinoa, brown rice, decrease your cheeses, and sub your fats for olive oil. If you don't feel your overweight though, don't worry about it. A lot of young people today, and I use that word liberally because I am 32 and still am getting the same stigma, feel that thin is almost anorexic. I wear a size 10 and am considered fat according to the media and what people think is thin. I am not a vegetarian, but I don't think that I am fat. I am active, feel healthy and my doc says I'm fine. Don't get hung up on all the media and how other people judge you. It's ridiculous.

Vegetarian isn't a synonym for self-starvation.

Get over it. He was trying to rile you up, and he obviously did. If he's older than about nine, he's just rude and has some self-esteem issues.

think about the Buddha Guatama he is depicted as being fat and he was vegetarian

Vegetarians can eat anything BUT meat. That includes Cake, ice cream, and tons of other unhealthy stuff. That kid just sounds like a real jerk. Good job being a vegetarian by the way!
