Question: any or all of the ingrediants used. thanks

I keep some "almond butter bran balls" in the fridge all the time so I always have a healthy, filling snack. They are so easy to make. You just take oat bran (not regular oats - it's very fine flakes of oat bran - I buy mine at Trader Joe's and Bob's Red Mill packages it as well) and mix it with some almond butter (or cashew butter or whatever nut butter you want) and some agave nectar or honey. From there you can get creative. I made some the other day: cashew macadamia butter, coconut, currants, grapefruit honey, and cinnamon. You can make SO many variations. You roll them into little bite-sized balls and if you want you can roll them in something like cocoa powder or coconut. Keep them in the fridge and grab a few when you need a snack.

I like to keep home made oatmeal cookies on hand, too. They're so much healthier than packaged cookies. You don't need much to make a oatmeal cookie - just some kind of oil (I use olive), a bit of sweetener (I'm partial to stevia with a drizzle of agave nectar), some nuts, a big pinch of baking soda, some dried fruit (soak it in some hot water first), and some whole grain flour (about the same amount as the oats), a pinch of salt, and some spices. Obviously I don't like recipes - just put everything together until you get a nice cookie dough. Bake at 350 for about ten to fifteen minutes or until whatever texture you like your cookies.

As for flaxseed oil, I sometimes add a bit to nobake cookies or raw fudge, but you have to be carefule because it does have a strong taste. I like making flaxseed crackers (soak flax for 6 hours, mix with spices or pureed veggies or whatever, spread thinly on parchment paper and bake on the lowest setting with the oven door open until it's crispy. Adding flax to a salad is also a popular way to get some healthy oil in your diet.

It sounds like your trying to increase fiber and healthy oils in your diet. Good! I love avocadoes and nuts in my diet, too, plus a lot of fruit for fiber.

One trick you can do is take a standard cookie recipe or whatever, and replace the flour with bran.

Go through normal recipes for things and just replace the items with these.

I add one or all of these to my standard pancake recipe. I don't feel so guilty eating them... works with muffins as well.

You can add flax seed to just about anything you would add any nuts or seeds - like a salad topper, or toss in with pasta.
