Can vegetarians eat fish?!
Answers: my friend is a vegetarian and she says that she can eat fish! but my dad used tio be a chef and he says that if u are a vegetarian u cant! fish is a living thing! so can they eat fish or not?
They can eat fish if they want, but then they are not vegetarian. Your dad is right. It's simple Biology 101, really. Fish are members of the animal kingdom and vegetarians do not eat dead animals.
No
Vegetarians do not eat animals
Fish are animals
Nope. Fish breathe air,bleed, die.
Some people claim they're vegetarian because they like the label. Vegetarians by definition don't eat animals. Fish might not be as 'cute' as furry mammals but they are still animals. If your friend eats fish she's not a vegetarian. If she really wants a label then tell her she's a pescetarian or a non-mammal eating omnivore.
That is called Semi-Vegetarian.
your friend is a hypocrite! vegetarians CAN NOT EAT LIVING THINGS! you friend is a pescaterian.
No vegetarians can't because it was once alive and it is an animal but some people still consider themselves vegetarians because they don't eat mammals or birds and eat mostly vegetables.
No ...........
Your friend is mistaken.
While it is a very healthy lifestyle choice to cut out all the meat but fish, it is not the same thing as being vegetarian. Fish are animals. Vegetarians don't eat animals.
If your friend wants to have a label for her particular diet, it is pescatarian.
No, it's impossible. Once they started putting in towards their lips with the intention of eating it, they are no longer vegetarian.
Your friend is a Semi-Vegetarian.
There is nothing wrong with being a Semi-Vegetarian but it just gets on my nerves when they call themselves completely vegetarian because they don't think that fish count even though fish are animals.
no, either you eat once living things or you dont. people only call themselves semi-vegetarians or flexitarians to ease their minds but you cant "sort of" eat animals.
Seems like this question is on here every day. Just saying vegetarian isn't technically true, they are a pesco vegetarian, which is often just said as "vegetarian" or "vegetarian but i eat fish," because the general meat eating public doesn't know what a pesco vegetarian or a pescatarian is (pescatarian implies eggs and dairy as well, pesco vegetarian does not, although it is often assumed anyway). Some vegetarians will tell you that this is some sort of an issue for them, and that they have seen restaurants label fish dishes as suitable for vegetarians, i have not seen this and therefore i think that this is some sort of vegetarian urban legend. Personally, i don't do egg or dairy and only have the rare bit of fish and i am apt to call myself vegetarian when describing myself to the general meat eating population (anyone who is a vegetarian of any sort is a kindred spirit and they get a complete list of what i do and do not eat and why) well, anyway, i am sure i confused more than i clarified.
Some people call themselves vegetarian and eat fish. As a vegetarian myself, I find it annoying.
I hate it when they call themselves "pesco-vegetarians" because that implies they are a type of vegetarian that eats animals; which doesn't make any sense either. You might as well call yourself a "carno-vegetarian" (vegetarian who eats meat)--it's just ridiculous.
If they call themselves "pescatarian"; fine, I can live with that.
if your a ture vegetairan NO,like me i dont eat ANY meat and all my food is organic.
some ppl eat fish and call themselves a vegetarian,uh NO.
i know ppl who dont eat any meat exept fish and the call themselves picetarians[like pices, the fish]
yea,true veggetairans dont eat fish
No.
not a true vegetarian
If you eat fish, you are not a vegetarian. Pure and simple. Vegetarians do NOT eat the flesh of other animals, and last time I checked, fish are animals.
It's because of people like your friend that people who really are vegetarian get fed fish. Can you ask her to please cut it out.
pescaterian
