The best way to avoid eating meat is thinking about what is was before it entered your house. Just think about it, a hotdog is all the pork meat thats not in the porkchops all grinded up. Think about the dirty factory it was made in. Think about the pigs face before it was slaughtered. And eating healthy is easier and cheaper than you think. But careful most granola and nutrition bars have animal fats in them. Read the label. And any candy with gelatin in it has pork in it. Gelatin is made of pork. So anything like gummy bears worms or sour keys or anything has pork in it. Good luck!
that is great that you want to be a vegitarian, i do to but i don't eat a lot of meat anyway. Try to just say no when you feel like that chicken sandwich.
hmm lets see motivation:
this is how they kill the chickens to sell the meat: they burn there beaks off, stip them of there feathers and grind them up! feeling sick to your stoamch? GOOD.never eat animals agin!
also watch some videos from PETA websites, they are horrible.they will make u want to be vegetarian for evr[garunteed!!!!!!!!]
DONT EAT MEAT.u have no idea how they torture the animals!
plus all the hormones they put in cows and stuff, makes u grow wrong and be HUGE and fat!
plus,if you dont buy organic milk, the milk has puss from cows in it sometimes.EWWWWWWWWW
good luck! be veggie!
buy as much organic as ya can!
It is actually cheaper to eat vegetarian than eating meat. The disadvantage to eating is it does take a little more thought and sometimes more prep.
You can continue to eat eggs, cheese and milk if you prefer, especially when you are still trying to make the transition. There are so many menu options that do not include meat and they are super simple and nutritious!
I use some pretty basic ingrediants week by week that I keep stocked in my pantry/fridge.
Beans...canned and bagged
tofu....scrambled for breakfast, thrown in stews, stir fryed...etc
lots of fresh veggies
quinoa
rice (brown)
hummus- a variety of flavors
Sauces ---purchased at Trader Joes, there is many sauces...stir fry sauces, masala sauces, simmering sauces...
I always have tortilla shells, Naan and whole grain breads in the pantry as well.
I always have tons of seasonal fruits in the fridge and I purchase yogart
I don't drink juices because it is better to eat the fruit....
anything your body has to process is better for you than taking in a pre processed food.
Good for you ! Make sure you have foods from all the main food groups, eat a balanced and varied diet. Feel proud that you are not consuming animals any longer, you will feel happier knowing that an animal has not died because of you. You will feel healthier. You could take a multi vitamin for a short time until you find your feet, have a look at the following sites, they are really helpful. Good luck !
U should order the free vegetarian kit from http://www.goveg.com/order.asp.It will help you want to be a vegetarian and give u tips about what u can eat and where u can purchase the right food for cheap.
If you go 'no meat' abruptly, you're setting yourself up to fail.
Just try to cut way back on meat. LIke only three times a week instead of every day, ect. You can gradually cut back.
As long as you're going vegetarian, not vegan, you can eat dairy, and you don't have to worry much about protein, ect.
Vegans have to be more careful. Vegetarian diet isn't hard.
Peanut butter, cottage cheese, beans, all good foods.
Also try to eat whole wheat bread, and cut down on any white flour.
My family doesnt have a lot of money eiehter but I like to buy frozen veggies like stirfry w/o meat and eat those I work at a grocery store so my foods cheaper and I buy my own grocerys sometimes. I like all the veggies. You can also buy canned veggies their cheap. My fav is greenbeans:D Try buying soymilk it is cheaper than regular anyways and it gives you the protien your laking from not eating meat:D
