I was hanging out with my then girlfriend in a small town in Iowa when I tried to order a garden burger. This garden burger was smoky, firm, and had the right amount of char to it, so I mentioned to my girlfriend at the time "They really did a good job making this garden burger taste like beef!"

Turns out, that "garden burger" in that small Iowa diner was a slab of beef with a pile of lettuce. They called it a garden burger because it had a salad's worth of lettuce on the burger. Kind of defeats the purpose of eating both a burger and a salad.

i ordered french toast one time we were having breakfast outside and a fly flew into my syrup and got stuck!
we laughed our heads off and left without paying.
don;t know if it was right but it sure was fun.

How about a stupid experience

My dad went to the salad bar (at a ponderosa), and came back with a big bowl of vanilla moose for desert. He put a huge spoonfull into his mouth, and very quickly realized that it wasn't vanilla moose (it was whipped butter).

My family and I went to a local Furr's cafeteria about a month ago. The food was just so awful that we really couldn't finish our meals. We vowed to never go there again. The funny thing about that was that we went there because we had gotten tired of the Golden Corral. We all agreed that we'd rather go to G.C. and be bored than to go to Furr's and end up with upset stomachs. Service was bad, too.

I had lunch at an Italian restaurant last week that had the ickiest tossed salad, with lots of the shredded iceberg lettuce they use for subs and very few other veggies. And underneath--a big piece of salami! The menu didn't mention the salami, either! But we had a big laugh, my colleagues and I did, when I said, "I've heard of 'a game of hide the salami,' but this is ridiculous."

I was in a Mexican chain restaurant where the cheese enchiladas came with beef sauce, but the chicken enchiladas came with a vegetarian sauce. I talked to the waiter about it and he agreed that I could have the cheese enchiladas with the veg sauce, but what he brought me was chicken enchiladas with beef sauce. I asked him please fix it so he left the chicken and cow in front of me and just brought out a cheese enchilada on a separate plate, like I was going to want to eat the beans and rice off the meat-covered plate. I asked him to please just remove it and I'd have just the cheese enchilada (I didn't want to ask for new beans and rice because I was pretty sure at this point there'd be spit in them, even though it wasn't my fault they got the order 100% wrong.) He later ADMITTED that they'd screwed it up on purpose because the cook said I needed to "eat more beef." I talked to the manager later that day just because I was concerned for people who were ordering their food without particular ingredients because of allergies or religious beliefs - I wasn't hurt by what they did, but their insensitivity and ignorance could have hurt someone else. The manager totally did not give a poo what I had to say, so needless to say, I never went back there.

My boyfriend and I went to the LA area back in March. We went to visit Descanso Gardens near La Canada Flintridge. There was a little cafe in the Japanese section, and my boyfriend asked what was good for vegetarians. So we got this little sushi thing to share. I was starting to eat when I noticed something that looked like fish! I read the label, and sure enough, there was imitation crab, which was actually pollock. I pointed out to my boyfriend that imitation crab is often made from fish. I think he'd eaten a piece of the sushi by then. He took it back to complain, but since we'd opened it and started eating, we couldn't get a refund. I had to explain that pollock was a kind of fish and not vegetarian. He got some crummy Pocky sticks that had dairy, so I couldn't eat them.

It's because some people who eat fish call themselves vegetarian that crap like this happens. This is why real vegetarians get angry when a person who eats fish calls himself/herself vegetarian.

I ordered a rare steak and they brought it out well done. I had to wait for another 15 min. to get one cooked correctly.

At a friend's house for dessert she served cake. I bit into mine and got a mouthful of eggshell. Somehow I was able to get it down, but years later still remember how awful it was.

i ordered a salad and it didnt say anything about having bacon in it but when i took a bite a spit it out. i was so mad b/c the bacon was crushed in tiny bits i thought it was pepper!

Two things happened to me. One time i went to Dunkin donuts ate my usual donut & bagel with coffee. A day later as i was watching the news i found out that same dunkin Donuts i went to a day before was closed down b/c a news camera saw mice having a field day in there so it was closed down by inspection. I went through the next few days feeling sick to my stomach wondering if the donut i ate couldv'e been already stepped or nibbled on by the mice. Another time afer eaing at Mcdonald's a waterbug almost landed on me as i opened the door on my way out. Needless to say never went there again.

I was in a Pizzeria Uno and some girl walked by who was drunk off her ***. She looked at our pizza and said, "Ooooooo, mushrooms" and plucked one off with her fingers and walked on!

Our waiter saw it and immediately came by our table and said he was appallled at what the person had done and apologized profusely. Then he offered to buy a pitcher of beer and we happily accepted his offer, so it all worked out for the best, lol.
