Most marshmellows contain gelatin in them which comes from animal, so I guess it's your own personal decision. Since you are not a FULL vegetarian, I would assume it's okay. However, if you feel uncomfortable and/or guilty eating marshmellows, might I suggest you look for some gelatin-free marshmellows? I'm Muslim, so I can't have gelatin either. We buy our marshmellows from our local Muslim meat store. Depending on the brandname, some manufacterers use fish gelatin, and others use synthetic gelatin.

I think that as long as it does not offend you it is ok to eat just about anything, including marshmallows.

Don't let us tell you what is right and what is wrong. That's for you to decide, it's different for everyone. =) I'm not going to tell you how to live your life.

I think that the skin of marshmallows has kosher gelatin.... It can come from cow skin, so if you are really worried about it , I would avoid it.

No you must not eat marshmallos, they contain pork and crab

marshmallows contain something from a cows hoof...
and you aren't a vegetarian if you eat meat or any animal that was once living
you are NOT a vegetarian

ok,im hindu[hare krishna] and hare krishnas DO NOT EAT ANY KIND OF MEAT .AT ALL. and,marshmallows..i dont see why u couldnt eat them!!?!?

Most Hindus in India do eat marshmallows.

I don't know if marshmallows in India are different from over here though.

I don't know about "wrong", that's up to you. If you're supposed to avoid any part of a dead cow, then gelatin fits that description and you should avoid it.

Marshmallows are made w/ gelatin and corn syrup and/or sugar. The most common gelatin is made from cows' hooves, tendons and gristle. So regular marshmallows are not something a Hindi or a vegetarian would normally eat. However, a gelatin that is derived from seaweed is available for vegans, vegetarians, etc. Health food stores carry vegetarian gelatin and vegetarian marshmallows.

It depends on if the marshmallow is made from meat or not. But i guess in you case it wouldnt matter since you already eat meat.

Most Hindus are vegetarian. In India, it's the untouchables that eat meat. In america, many Indians have this deluded notion that it's impossible to be vegetarian in the U.S. so they stop. SO religiously speaking, you aren't supposed to eat meat.

But of course, it's your choice as a person.

And technically, eating marshmallows would probably not be a Hindu thing to do...since it could contain cow parts, and Hindus are definitely against anything that requires death of cow.

Of course, it's all your choice of what you want to do. These are just the trends.

Marshmallows contain gelatin which is made from bones and skin from pigs and cows, usually.

I don't see why it would matter to you if you are "not a full vegetarian."

There are writings in Hinduism against eating animals; it doesn't make any difference what kind of animal. However, not all Hindus are vegetarian.

If are really Hindu, why don't you ask your parents or a Hindu priest? Read the Bhagavad Gita.
