Question: I've heard that gummy bears and candy like that has gelatin in it which comes from pork. Is there any other foods that have meat hiding in it that i might not be aware of?

alot of candies do skittles have it and so do starburst
here is a list of vegan and vegetarian candy

Marshmellows and any gummy product. That sneaky pork!

most boiled sweets or any that need something to "set" them use gelatine unless otherwise stated on the packaging.
Also any candy which looks unnaturally red may have "cochineal" or "carmine" in it which means it contains squashed ants

hope this helps
much love xxx

Some cheeses are coagulated with rennet, which comes from the lining of a calf's stomach. You won't necessarily know which are which unless you look for a brand that specifically says it is rennetless or made with vegetable rennet.

Also look for gelatin, taurine, lard and "natural flavorings." The latter can mean it's from plant or animal sources, so you have to decide whether you're going to worry about it based on the food it's in. Chicken and beef stock, chicken and beef powder, chicken and beef fat... they're in all kinds of things that appear to be vegetarian, so you just have to get used to reading labels. Gelatin is in a lot of things, including gummy bears, skittles, starburst, marshmallows, many brands of sour cream (particularly the reduced fat versions,) and many others.

Yes it is true, pork is in gelatin! There are tons of items that have gelatin in them like, jello, skittles, starburst, some gummi worms/ bears. But you can eat all of them if you get kosher jello, skittles, starburst, some gummi worms/ bears, etc!

There's a lot of things. I was surprised to find out that baked lays barbeque flavor has chicken in it. A lot of soups that don't say a meat in the label usually use beef stock. Refried beans aren't vegetarian, they need to be vegetarian refried beans! Same with baked beans. There's a kind of ramen noodle brand that is vegetarian (top ramen) and the same noodles, taste and look the same (maruhen or something like that) that aren't! Always read the labels, thats the best way to know!

there not meat in the candt.. its like the fat

gelatin isn't just from pork, it can come from the bones/skin/hooves of many animals. Many cheeses are made with rennet, which can come from cow stomachs, but there are rennets made from milk thistle or another chemical process, so that isn't solid. Other hidden things are some sugars that are whitened with bone char (e.g. cane sugar, but not beet sugar), and alcohol clarified with gelatin or crushed shellfish and sturgeon.
