If you eat fish but not meat, are you considered a vegterian??!
Answers: Honestly, this is up to you. Some places on the Internet will say that you are a pescitarian, others will say your a vegetarian. It also depends on your views of why you're a vegetarian. Is it because of moral or health reasons? Alot of people go vegetarian because of animal rights issues, but I haven't heard of issues with fish farms. Not saying there aren't bad fish farms...I just don't know.
No. Vegetarian means strictly vegetables. Fish counts as meat in some ways. Mostly in the way that fish are not vegetables.
No, but you can be considered a "healthy eater"!
your a pescitarian. (i'm not sure thats the correct spelling)
NO
Is this a f*ckin joke?

No, vegetarians do not eat ANY dead animals.
No
Fish are meat, and vegetarians do not eat meat
Not by most vegetarians. However, there are quite alot of people who call themselves vegetarian but eat fish/seafood so by some you may be considered vegetarian.
I think there should be a name for someone who eats fish but doesn't eat other meat to distinguish between them and "meat-and-fish eaters".
Maybe we could launch pescatarian? Maybe it has already found its way into the New Oxford English?
other person was right- pescetarian
I would not consider that person vegetarian. I do not consider eggs, chicken, or any flesh vegetarian either.
considering the state of the oceans right now and that we will likely suffer severe collapse of fish populations in oceans worldwide by 2050, I would argue that fish is actually environmentally worse than some meats - since a lot of it comes straight out of an ecosystem, the ocean.
diet and animal rights issues are another question.
No. I believe that because fish is an animal, it counts as meats. You are eating animal if you eat fish.
No. You are not allowed to eat any animals.
No because fish is still a meat and an animal so you would just be considered a person who doesn't eat red or white or dark meats just fish. Some people do consider this though but either way we are still omnivores.
no. fish have faces and vegitarians dont eat things with faces... sorry. but what i would do is find some name to call urself so u dont have to say " im a vegetarian excpt i eat fish!" hope u find one for conversation's sake.
No you are not a vegetarian, as they do not eat meat of any kind. There are only two types of vegetarian, all the others are made up terms. Some people eat fish and call themselves vegetarian, but they are mistaken. You can call yourself anything you want, but it does not mean it is true.
no, you are not.
People get very confused, and I have had people tell me that they are vegetarians and only eat seafood before...
Vegetarians do not eat any meat products, which includes beef, pork, chicken, fish, seafood....etc.
Vegetarians can drink milk and eat cheese and eggs, but if they choose not to do that they are vegan, which means they eat no animal products.
No.
Oh good god. This place gets so redundant sometimes.
I just wish people could learn to spell vegetarian properly.
PERSONALLY, i think you are still killing a fish, which is an animal. There are some people i know who eat chicken (and call themselves veg) becuase they say its POULTRY not MEAT. i dont believe that
You are not a vedgeterian because vedgterians don't eat any living animals, they only eat fruits and vedgetables! so that is thy reason!
The only people who call that vegetarian are other people who eat only fish or people who eat meat. Real vegetarians don't eat animals and they would consider a person who eats fish to be a vegetarian (because fish are animals).
I became vegetarian because I didn't like the idea of killing animals and eating them. I hate when some people eat fish or chicken and call themselves vegetarian. It's confusing and ridiculous. Go ahead and give me "bad answer" you fish eater, you.
Fish is meat. Fish are animals, and their flesh is just as much meat as a steak or a pork chop.
No.
This is getting really, really old.
NO! If you eat fish, you are NOT a vegetarian. Fish is meat. It is the flesh of an animal, and vegetarians do NOT eat the flesh of an animal. And, yes, fish are ANIMALS.
There is no such thing as pesco-vegetarian. There is no such thing as pesco-pollo vegetarian. How many other prefixes will people put on these words to dilute the meaning of vegetarian? Dear Gaia, it really irritates me.
You are someone who eats no meat but fish. If you are desperate for a label, I suppose flexitarian would do. It beats erroneously calling yourself a vegetarian.
A true vegetarian eats veges, not things with eyes.
I know a lot of people who would think so. I tend to say no. Technically, you are a pescetarian/pescotarian. Fish, while culinarily not meat, biologically is. It's analagous to tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, etc. While we eat them as vegetables, they are actually fruits.
Vegetarians come in varying degrees, the common factor being that they limit or eliminate foods that are made from animal parts. For vegans, the restrictions go all the way up to animal products as well.
Short answer: eat what you want and call yourself what you want. The technical answer is that you are a pescetarian or pescotarian. (That is, you eat fish but no other animals.)
I've been vegetarian to varying degrees on and off for ten years. I generally tell people that I'm a vegetarian because that's the easiest way to make sure that any and all restrictions I may have in place at the time are covered.
Fish IS meat.
no!
thats like saying you take care of your puppy and u give him water but no food
some vegetarians must eat fish because their doctor told them that they are not eating enough protein or something. but others consider themselves vegetarians when they eat fish because fish isnt meat. but my definition of vegetarian is not eating anything that has died. so, in my opinion vegetarians do not eat fish.
actually you r considered a fish vegetarian because there are many different types of vegetarinism
A person who avoids red meat and pultry but eats fish or seafood is a Pesco vegetarian. A person who avoids red meat but eats poultry and fish or seafood is a pesco pollo vegetarian. A person who avoids red meat and fish but eats chicken is Pollo vegetarian.
The pollo is latin and its pronounced like ( poe-yo)
My friend is a pesco pollo vegetarian
