Is it wierd to all the sudden decide to be a vegetarian?!
Answers: A few weeks ago, I saw a clip on youtube about the slaughtering of over 50 million animals for their fur and it really made an impression on me. I started researching a little more and found out how cruely animals were treated before they were slaughtered for their meat. I guees it sounds weird b/c I have always eaten meat but I never really thought about the fact that I was eating a dead animal! My question is, is it odd to all the sudden want to become a vegetarian and help the fight against animal cruelty? Please, only honest, serious answers!!! Thanks
Not at all. In todays society people are generally removed from even the thought of what has gone on to get the meat to their plate. This isnt just about a debate between eating animals and not eating them, but a debate about wether its ok to treat living animals like inanimate objects without feelings or thoughts.
Taking action towards something you feel strongly about is commendable, and this world would be alot better if more people did that instead of remained ignorant and/or apathetic.
No, it's not weird. Some people ponder it for quite some time, some people phase meat out, and some decide quickly and quit cold turkey. I woke up one morning a meat eater and went to bed a vegetarian and never looked back. For me it was a book; everything I read spoke to me and it all just clicked. I literally did not have another bite of meat after I put the book down.
No, it's not weird. You had an epiphany about the meat you eat and decided you don't want to take part in that anymore. Most people don't think about where that hunk of flesh came from or what happened to turn a sentient being into pieces of meat.
Go to www.cok.net and order a vegetarian starter guide for more information. www.vegweb.com has tons of recipes and tips for being vegetarian.
Good luck!
No, follow your heart. You be you and I'll be "me".
It’s like religion you choose what faith you want to believe in so goes the same whether you want to be vegan or not!!!
No, its not weird. After watching the slaughtering of animals, I don't blame you changing your ways. You are doing exactly what the video was made for. Kudos to you!
No, I became a vegetarian for the same reason 32 years ago. I am heathier and have better karma for it. There is nothing wrong with being humane.
No, it isn't weird. I did the same several years ago. I used to love beef- like a steak..then one day I was chewing on one bite of that, I suddenly felt grossed out, and have not eaten steak ever again, In fact, recently I've started not like eating ground beef- like in hamburgers, or spaghetti.. I admit I did eat steak once more last year.. however I like beef jerky, I still eat pork and chicken,.. I've learned that not eating red meat lowers bad Cholesterol levels.
Not at all. It's cool and I wish you well with it.
To all the vegans out there - Why would you eat a burger that is made out of vegatables? That would be like living in a cannibal society and say no I will not eat people but make my food look like a human arm!
It is senseless. Eat what you want - You, me and them know where it comes from, we know what happens. People are meat eaters and vegatable eaters - We are not Herbivores nor are we Carnivores - We are Omnivores. We eat both meat and vegatable matter. Where do you think protien comes from (Don't say tofu becouse you'll puke after 2 weeks).
We need our vitamins from vegatables but we also need our Iron, protien and whatever from meat. You say vitamins - Guess where they get it from??? - YES - Animals! And if they don't then it is scientific chemicals - Either way we're screwed!
naw.(short & sweet & 2 tha point)
Nope...of course not! I was just like you, I saw a video and I immediately stopped eating meat.
Being a vegetarian saves lives, helps the environment, and is healthier! =) GooD CHoicE!
It's not weird at all. I'm not even kidding, one morning I woke up and started thinking about it, and I was like, "I'm going to go vegetarian." so I went to the store, bought a book, and it just kind of happened. Now I've been lacto ovo vegetarian for almost a year, and I'm planning on going lacto vegetarian soon, hopefully vegan even later.
Nope. That's usually how it works for most people.
No not at all..many many people stop eating meat of all sudden...the realization of "where it came from" being just about the number one reason.
Here's my reason: I just didn't like the taste of everything except chicken and turkey(The whole it's a dead animal didn't make it taste good)...then someone said why don't you just become a vegetarian you don't eat it but every blue moon anyway...so I did...and never went back.
Me to I think its very mean I just decided to be one like a week ago :D
No. My wife had an uncle that all of a sudden decided to be a homosexual.
