My grandchildren will be visiting and they have chosen to go vegan along with three of their children?!

You probably have at total of three meals to five plus snacks & dessert. Start at a health food store or upscale grocer if one is avaliable. In our area Raley's has a lot of natural and organic options. A lot of pastas are egg free and some are gluten and wheat free look for rice pasta or use brown rice as a base for a meal. Have three or four veggies on hand such as celery, carrots, onions and garlic. Oatmeal for breakfast with brown sugar, bananas, raisins and cinnamon to be added by the individual with soy or rice milk. Vanilla sugar is a nice touch and so is maple syrup. A garbanzo bean "stew with Italian tomatoes, some bell peppers and onions with a green salad with cucumbers and a home made oil and vinegar dressing ( most commercial dressings contain whey) with some nice bread and margarine. ( check the bread labels for milk ingredients like whey). Lentil stew is nice with mushrooms and onions. A green salad and some other type of bread. Minestrone soup with homemade garlic bread and a green salad. Enchiladas made with corn tortillas red or green enchilada sauce, rice, beans & soy cheese. Toffuti makes a nice soy based "sour cream just add some salsa & voila! Or a corn and black bean salad with cilantro, red onions , tomatoes ( can be canned) and maybe olives and scallions in a salsa dressing. Sorbet ( no dairy) or fresh fruit are great desserts. Toffuti offers a lot of frozen treats like mock ice cream sandwiches and pints of " iced desserts" that can be topped with choclate sauce, nuts or fruit. Potatoes and broccoli are a complete protein. Treat like a twice baked potato and fill with soy cheese and/ or sour cream, carmalized onions or sauteed mushrooms mimic the meaty texture. Add some scallions for taste and texture and some soy cheese. You can even make mac & cheese with soy milk and soy cheese. Go to allrecipe's website for their persimmon brunch cake and substitute canola oil for the butter in the recipe. I made it yesterday and it worked perfectly. You could easily substiute applesauce or any other fruit puree. There are soy based crean cheese substitutes out there if you want to ice this cake.

i would just wait and go shopping with your grandchildren they will know what they like and you wont be stuck with the wrong thing

I agree with Billie, it really depends on what they like. I am a vegetarian trying to transition to a raw food diet, and my mom tries hard but never seems to get me the right food.

You can't go wrong with fruit and vegetables, rice, pasta.
Pasta with a tomato based sauce - add chick peas for protein.

I would suggest you ask your grandchildren.

Chickpeas can replace meat or cheese in salads. Tofu (you can buy it pre-marinated) is good for stir-fry. Good luck.

Except for the Child that has allergies "this too shall pass".

My Children decided to become vegans,it was such a pain for my Hubby and myself.Thankfully, they decided that chicken was okay, that saved the day for me $ wise.

Of course, it depends on what the food allergies are.

I'd suggest making a big pot of vegetarian bean, lentil or split pea soup. Serve with crusty bread and a salad.

Hummus and pita bread is a good snack to have on hand.

Oatmeal for breakfast. Find out if they like soy milk.

Dinner could be pasta with veggies in an olive oil and garlic sauce. You can also find vegan frozen ravioli in some upscale supermarkets. Check out what yours carries for an easy meal.

A lot of gluten free food tends to be vegan because most thing that are vegan are non processed. Try to get baby carrrots and other veggies and lots of fruits.

Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, potatoes, portabello mushrooms (they are great either broiled or grilled), Check your store for gluten free pasta's and cereals, oatmeal just to name a few.

Feed 'em meat. Let 'em starve if they want to.
