I want to become a vegetarian but at home I have to eat what I'm given?!
Would I be ok just not eating meats at school for now until I can provide my own food?
Answers: I want to become a vegetarian because I hate that we kill animals for food, that's just my opinion but at home I have to eat what I'm given whether I want it or not.
Would I be ok just not eating meats at school for now until I can provide my own food?
Thats exactly why i wanted to become one ^^
You should proabaly talk to your parents about it.Mine were open to the idea, but wouldn't really make specific vegetatian meals. So I lived of sides of veggies and stuff. But once my brother became one, they ran into a problem ;)
Most parents will understand
That's proboaly a good start, but make sure to branch out eventually.
Learn to cook.
I adore animals too. couldn't eat a whole one though
Your family should respect your values...
Ask your parents to bend with you. Instead of burgers ask them to make you specifically Boca Burgers, or just eat vegetables.
Try the best you can, it's your intentions that count.
Do your best until you can fully make your own decisions...
Do what is best for you. there are no rules. Whatever little you do will help.
If you are comfortable with that, ethically, then that is fine. This is ultimately a personal issue, and only you can decide what is right tfor you.
Just so you know, to be consistent with ethical vegetarianism, you should also not use leather, most glues, and many kinds of medicines. As they are also obtained from the slaughter of animals.
Have you ever tried talking to your parents maybe working something out with them. I did that and I just didn't eat the meat or meat products that they cooked for everyone else maybe they will be ok if you did it like that.
You are making a difference with every meat-free meal. Absolutely do what you can! And make sure that your parents know why you feel the way you do. Don't be aggressive or preachy, but show genuine concern for the welfare of the animals, plus your own body. An animal-free diet is one of the best things you can do for yourself and the environment.
Talk to you parents say you want to be a veggie and they will provide you with an alternative.
schools have to provide a veggie alternative so that won't be any trouble
Have you spoken to your parents, and told them how you feel.
My daughter has decided that she don't want to eat pork any more, so I don't give it to her. She has a right to say what she wants to eat and doesn't. She is 13.
Talk to your parents and explain to them, don't shout at them or get vex, calmly tell them why you want to be a vegetarian. The more mature you act the more they are likely to listen to you.
Yes. That works out perfectly. This allows your body to adjust slowly to no meat over time and eventually when you move out on your own you can go meatless completely. It also will give you a chance to see if you like the vegan lifestyle before accepting it totally.
It sounds like your parents don't listen to you. Try to get them to sit down and tell them how you really feel. Maybe they'd listen. Becoming a vegetarian can become expensive, so beware!
,,,just do the best you can, under the circumstances that you are in-theres some good recipes at the site below.visit some veggie sites too,& read up on what you may need to suppliment on,like vitamin B12,,,
Have a talk with your parent (s) and tell them your views on eating meat. If they refuse to stop serving you meat, then I would go with not eating meat at school.
Can you buy and cook your own food? If not, is your family understanding enough to just let you eat everything expect the meat? Good Luck
not eating meat because we kill animals for food is rather assinine can't you think of a better reason than that
first u need to talk to ur doctor so he will tell u what to eat or give u a protein supplement.. they sit down and talk to your parents explain them why u dont what to eat me and tell them that this is a decision that u made ur mind up on that for now on u will be making ur dinner and also tell them u have talk to a doctor. it might also be helpful if u buy a vegetarian cookbook so they know u will be getting ur proper nutrients. if they dont except that then dont eat... u on a slient strike or try to eat food before they come home from work.....!!!!! GOOD LUCK
That's fine...your plan. Just curious though, have you talked to your parents about this? Maybe you should try and convince them if they don't feed you meat then they'll save A LOT on their grocery bill (meat is sooo expensive). Ask them if you could please try it for just one week. If they still disagree, then go with your plan. Good Luck!
Why don't you ask if you can cook some vegetarian meals a couple of times a week at home... or at least help cook them? Make it as easy on your mom, dad, or whoever cooks for you by providing recipes. There are a lot of them on the internet. It would be healthy for everyone. I know it is not a full vegetarian diet, but it's a start. Who knows, maybe you can convert your family too. Good luck.
dont stress ..try making ur own food u will find thousands of easy recipes on internet ... pasta with veggies is good option
... fruits ... sandwich with cucumber onion tomato ...
well lyk sum1 else said i think ur family shud respect ur decisions and thoughts and evrything and if u dont wanna eat meat they shouldnt really force you to
well try the best you can and try 2 avoid eating meats when you can...and then gradually make ur parents see that ur unhappy eating meats and hopefully soon enough they'll understand =)
You have to make a stand, its hard on parents but you need to tell them how you feel about eating meat. Let them know that you understand that they can't completely cater to your new way of eating but, they would save money on not having to buy an extra pork chop or hamburger patty or chicken breast just to feed you too. They may not understand, but after awhile they will be conscious of what you eat. I had the same problem when I was a teenager, I stopped eating beef and pork in high school and I'm 28 and my family still tries to feed me pork every once and while. But they are getting better. Good luck to you.
Girlzi is brilliant. Explain how much money can be saved by not buying as much meat.
Learn to cook vegie meals as Girlzi said, you are taking responsibility for a chore your mom does (+ points for you in mom's eyes) relieving her of that duty on occasion.
Learn about vegie alternatives for protein -- dried beans and rice are equal to meat n taters.
good luck
Hello,
I don't now your age, so I guess your not old enough to take your own responsibility.
First I can tel you to look on the Internet for a lot of information that concerns your becoming a vegetarian.
There're a lot of stuff like vitamins and a lot more you should have every day. First find out what to eat and drink an a daily basis. Than you might try to convince your parents with your information. But don't think your parents are stupid, because they do as good as they can.
And when your older/old enough you can make your own choice. Don't fight over it.
First get every information about vegetarian.
And don't go hating or disliking people how do eat meat.
If there was now meat, there was no life. Like you.
And you don't have to prove anything to anyone. It's now club or what ever, it's a way of living.
Success!
Hopefully I let you now enough and have a nice day!!!

In my house, my kids eat what they are given, but I try not to make something I know they hate. But, my husband is a steak and potatoe kind of guy and I REFUSE to let my children make the decisions in our home. Like I said, I try to bend the menu to make everyone happy.
I made this rule because I work full time and don't think I should have to make more than one meal. Also, it would be more expensive. And, we don't think its okay to waste. But in your case, I would try not to give you meat. That doesn't mean I would make a completely different meal for just you.
Try to pick around what they are giving you until you have the option of buying/cooking your own meals.
If you can't choose what you eat at home, then why don't you just eat the vegetables or you could read up on vegetarian options and talk to your parents about your views.
Um its nature. Humans are the only animals that feel remorse for eating to survive. Dumb. its nature eat that cow!
Leave home!!!
