Were You Ever Literally Forced To Eat Your Veggies Growing Up?!

Question: Like literally having the veggies shoved down your throat?

Did any of you ever force anyone else to eat veggies?

Yes I was and I was also forced to eat my meat and my potatoes. My father was from the school of no one leaves the table unless your plate is clean.
One of my sisters has an eating disorder because of his BS parenting skills.

No but I knew someone who was and he can't eat vegetables now. It's one thing to make a kid sit at the table until s/he eats them but force feeding is just plain abuse... they don't allow the production of fois gras in this country so force feeding kids should be banned too.

I was never forced to eat my veggies and i have never forced someone to eat veggies

yeah not actually stuffed down my throat. but if i didnt eat then for dinner i was served the same plate of food for breakfast then lunch and so on till i had finished

No I always loved the veggies, but I was forced to finish my entire meal even if was full. I think it gave me a complex because I hate wasting food. But since I have began working on that complex i lost 30 pounds! And no i never force my kids to eat anything, but i will ask them to try it. If they dont like it, i dont make them eat it.

no, i loved veggies as a kid. the only thing i hate is tomatoes, lol.

Not physically forced but definitely brow beat. Can't leave the table, no treats, have to go to bed, no outing etc..BUT if was for MEAT, Eggs etc. in my case. Should have had stock in a catsup company I hid alot of icky flavors under it over the years.
With my own children(now grown) & my granddaughters I expect a "tasting" of a new food but NEVER force anything on them.

I admit that i did not like vegetables growing up, but my mom isn't the greatest cook.

Now my sister cooks for me and makes great meals, like a eggplant tomato sandwich that is excellent.

When I was around 8 or 9, my parents' friends would babysit me. The only bad experience I've had with being forced to eat my veggies was when I stayed at their house. They would throw on this HUUUGE pile of rice and meat/veggies/whatever on my plate. EVERYTHING on my plate had to be eaten. There is this Filipino dish called Ampalaya... basically it's this green pear-shaped veg that is super bitter. I don't know how anyone can eat it... but I had to wipe my plate clean. Not one morsel was to be left. It literally took me 2 hours trying to finish it once.

Did I force anyone to eat veggies? Hm... not that I can recall.

No, I always loved my veges. My son however, had a thing about them, but the way I got around it was make vege soup with everything blended in it and he loved it. He's now 21, still thingy about vegetables, but makes his own vege soup, so I got through to him eventually. My daughter, not a problem.

Just the one I didn't care for and that was eggplant! I never forced anyone to eat anything but my parents forced me to eat both egg plant and also meat! I never liked meat and I didn't care for eggplant! Other veggies taste pretty good to me! Tomatos are my favourite but they are really a fruit! Broccoli is great too especially the blue broccoli!

No, I'm one of the few people I know who didn't have some kind of unpleasant food trip laid on them by their parents. They never made me eat stuff I didn't like, but I was expected to try everything before I rejected it. And I was never guilted into cleaning my plate.

And no, I would never shove anything down anyone's throat. I'm not known for resorting to physical violence...
