Why vegetarians dont eat meat?!
Answers: How did they become vegetarians?
Ever since I was young and saw cows being whipped at a market I have thought how cruel it was that we eat meat.
Coming from a large family and having to eat what you were given - It took me many years until I was in the "right place" in time/life to stop eating meat.
When you are brought up eating meat, it is a bit hard to learn what else to eat, and if you are sharing groceries with family, flat mates etc, you also may need to be at the right stage to give up.
Of course, I have found there is so much I can eat, and seeing raw meat makes me feel queasy. Whenever I walk past a butcher and smell the smells, I am so glad I don't eat it. Not too mention I think it is cleaner cooking without animal products, even animal fat in the bottom of a pan looks disgusting. Imagine what it does inside people's bodies.
And the great plus is the health benefits of being vegetarian, usually eating better (still can be hard when eating out) and really low cholestoral without trying too hard.
I think most vegetarians are probably more diet conscious as we have to research what things we should be eating so it probably makes us more aware of what we eat than the general population. (only generally speaking of course). We probably would eat less processed food (except for treats) and more natural fresh foods.
I don't mean diet in the fact that we all have perfect bodies from eating only protein but eating well enough so we stay reasonable well and healthy.
I haven't had any major operations since becoming vegetarian even though many people I know of a similar age (30's & 40's), but not vegetarian, have had some sort of an operation. Of course it could be coincidence, but you have to wonder.
They do not like the cruel treatment of animals which are specifically bred or raised for food.
Some do it for health reasons, other do it for their own beliefs, and yet others can't do it because they can't stand the thought of eating something, as they say, 'with a face'.
There are many reasons why one becomes a vegetarian.
We just eliminated meat from our diet..
it's not that hard..
it make us feel better thinking that we aren't killing animals for our food.
Also that there isn't a dead body on our plate..
either works!
=D
They don't like the cruelty of animals and they think its bad to kill the animals because it hurts them :)
Vegetarians have a variety of reasons for not eating meat.
1) They do not like the thought of killing innocent animals for human consumption.
2) They do not like the processes the animals go through after being killed for human consumption.
3) Religious reasons.
4) They do not like the taste of meat.
5) They chose a vegetarian life for health reasons.
Just like any lifestyle choice, it should be respected.
you can't just group everyone together. everyone has their own story. me, i have never had meat and i just don't want to because it is cruel and evil.
It was breathing, living, and had a mind of it's own.
that's my reason.
i personally just want to be a vegetarian because i hate the taste of meat.
When I was six my mom was at work and my dad fell asleep watching the Discovery Channel. I saw how they slaughtered pigs in China or somewhere over that way. It was so sickening
I have no idea. I'm a vegan and enjoy meat.
i dont like animals suffering unnecessarily so i stopped eating it and anything else that they have had to be slaughtered to get
and how the hell can u be vegan and enjoy meat?
I'm a vegetarian because eating dead animals is gross. :)
I became a vegetarian when I saw a video of animals being killed for meat. Right then, I stopped eating it. I couldn't stand to see it for awhile, or smell it. I love animals, and to me, eating a cow, chicken, or pig, is no different then eating my cats and dogs.
If you ask 1,000 vegetarians you'll probably get 1,000 different answers. For me, it was a combination of health reasons, environmental reasons and animal welfare reasons that got me started. Now I can't think of a single good reason NOT to be veg*n.
The method by which the animals are farmed and killed is un-natural.
The animals are given no respect and are treated as a product...not as a living creature.
Meat is an uneccessary part of our diet. All the "goodness" in meat can be found in other foods.
