Why do you think alot of meat eaters are so angry at vegetarians/vegans?!
I don't force my views down anyone's throat. Not eating meat is a choice I've made for me. And nobody who knows me tries to catch me out because I never have a go at anyone for eating meat. It's their choice. I don't get why meat eaters have a problem with mine.
I do think some veggies give others a bad name, not wanting anyone to eat meat at all, not letting people eat it around them and all that.
Answers: I hate it, it's like meat-eaters want to catch vegetarians out, because they think that we think we're better than them or something!! As soon as someone finds out I'm a veg, they ask "well do you wear leather?" "Do you eat cheese?" "Do you wear make up? Well that's tested on animals!"

Well....I am not angry at Vegetarians or vegans but I think people don't like the fact that many Vegetarians/vegans try to tell us meat eater that what we're eating is wrong and how we are barbarians and we may take offence to being told what to eat. Like Lisa Simpson did to her father.
i dont think that a lot of meat eaters r angry but some of them believe that they r wasting... and being foolish by not eating meat
im am a meat eater nd i dont think any such thing

Because lets face it, meat eaters get fed up with veg*ns making up facts and figures to make them give up meat. At the end of the day its a personal choice if they want to eat meat or not and saying that there choice of lifestyle is morally wrong or unhealthy is bound to get them angry. They get angry by the fact that some veg*ns seem to think they are more moral than them and say nasty things.
For example go find some atheists and tell them that they are going to burn in hell because they don't believe in God.
Just ignorance, they don't have any clue about what they are talking about. So, ignorance says you should criticize and call names!
I just finished typing this in a reply to another question- I don't get it! Vegetarianism is a choice based on such a peaceful philosophy...and often it's not even a choice. No one wants to eat something that sickens them. It's not something to be hated for.
Something about our decision to not eat meat makes some people feel very angry toward us. I guess people have a tendency to hate/ridicule what they don't understand, and I guess some people just can't understand the decision to not eat meat.
i am not angry, more irritated and annoyed by their "holier than thou, i am superior to all of you" preachy attitudes towards omnis. As the saying goes there is no one more fanatical than a convert and there is no one more annoying than a preaching fanatic.
Actually, I've noticed more hostile attitudes from vegans/vegetarians here than omnis. just check out the negative ratings in the vegans/vegetarians section. Any omni post gets a negative rating while any vegan post gets a plus no matter how asinine or ridiculous that post may be. And this intolerance is quite obvious in this particular question as well.
Note for vegans/vegetarians: just because people eat meat, it doesn't mean that's all they eat. And not becasue they eat meat, it means they abuse animals as well. Food is food is food. For many it's not even a question of choice as it is a question of survival.
I'm a vegetarian for health reasons, not animal rights. (I like my leather shoes...) If I tell people that, usually they shrug and say "Cool". Diet isn't like smoking -- you can't tell people what they eat isn't good for them without them getting pissed.
It's a personal choice, and nothing more.
And as grandpa always said, there's plenty of room for all of {insert preferred deity here}'s creatures-- right next to the mashed potatoes...
It may be that they are deep down feeling guilty for eating meat, but they are trying to rationalize it by thinking that everyone does it. So when they find someone that doesn't, it weakens this rationalization and provokes hostility.
because theyre so full of animal cells they've gone mad
I have discussed my vegetarinism with my husband at length (he's a meat eater) and have often asked how he can eat meat when he is fully aware of the suffering the animals endure. He answer is always the same, he tries not to think about it. So I think the existance of vegetarians forces meat eaters to examine what they are doing, and quite rightly, they know deep down that they are responsible for cruelty but they don't like being reminded of the fact.
It's well known to many psychologists that when some people feel guilty they project it onto others and it can manifest as other emotions such as anger.
I fell its the other way around I mean Vegetarians and vegans have riots and campaigns against us meat eaters.
lol We don't do that stuff So I mean you can imagine why
a meat eater would be mad. I mean wouldn't you if you were lectured how to and what to eat? But I have nothing against Vegans or vegetarians my mom is a Vegetarian...
if your veggie right on...
:)
seems to me that meat eaters are more tolerant of veges than vice versa. veges all seem to have a superior attitude to normal people. They've even got their own page on this site. But I guess they are kind of "special."
Im not angry, generally speaking Im a laid back nice fella. Although I do get angry when a vegetarian tries to imply that I am a cruel viscious person because I had a sausage butty for my breakfast.
It pisses me off when veggies go on about how its 'possible to survive' only on vegetables and therefore we should all do so. Yeah? well done but I dont want to just survive. I want to live life and enjoy it.
It gets on my t1ts when they say that vegetarians are healthier than those who eat meat. Really? So what do they die of? We all got to die of something, Or does going veggie make you immortal?
And what gets me the most are the preachy condescending types who try to make out that my decision is wrong while theirs is right and that somehow, being a vegetarian makes them a better person. This type of person seems oblivious to the fact that its possible to be a tosser regardless of what you put on your plate.
Stay away from any/all of the above and Im sure I wont get upset at all
No one wants to hear your sanctimonious "teh poor animulz" rants while they are tearing into a steak or a roast. Since most of you are known for this behavior, many of us meat eaters stand on guard like the reserves whenever we are surrounded by known vegans/vegetarians. Bear in mind, most of us want nothing more than to eat in peace, and can care less what you are eating or what your ethics are. Good for you. Also, no human is any better than the next. We all are capable of good and evil. All that self righteousness and trotting about on your high horse is rather annoying to us.
I'm sorry about my brethren treating you poorly for finding out you're a vegetairan/vegan.
I have no problem with most vegetarians. A good friend of mine is a vegetarian.
I have a problem with pushy people who try to convert me.
I assume you are not like that, and so I apologize for the other vegetarians.
I actually like most vegetarians: more steak for me.
EDIT: to be fair, I AM a barbarian, but only in D&D.
coz they are retards
They're jealous and uninformed.
They don't understand why torturing a sentient creature is inherently evil, or that the millions who have died of diabetes complications, heart disease, and cancer in our society died because of our country's nasty meat-gorging lifestyle.
Because they think the stereotype that vegans and vegetarians are all PETA activists is true so they don't try to give us a chance.
It's quite annoying.
They are jealous of our far superior lifestyle.
FYI* their is no such word as alot. It's a lot.
