Soy lecithin?!

Question: So I know that we vegeterians and vegans can't have lecithin, but my gum says that it has "soy lecithin" in it. Does that mean that it's not real lecithin? I'm kinda confused...

Its made from soy, so yes vegetarians can eat that.

Soy lecithin is a vegetable based emulsifier (keeps ingredients from separating).

It means it's sourced from soy and is vegetarian. If the ingredients say only "lecithin" however, you have to assume it's animal sourced.

Lecithin comes from either of two sources - eggs and soy. One is vegan and the other is not.
