Is this moral?!

Question: I told my friend that it is immoral to buy antibacterial soap and cleansers because it kills the bacteria. She disagrees, but since we are both vegan I told her that her act is not vegan like and is not very moral? Do you agree?

well vegan refers to no using of animals or killing them ect. bacteria are not animals. they are bacteria. there are 3 domains of life, bacteria archeae and eukarya. animals are in eukaryotes. once again bacteria does not equal an animal and this is like 3rd time ive answered this question from u...i really dont even know why i do anymore? and seriously, not to be mean or anything, but who has this much time on their hands? dont u get bored of doing this day in and day out??? i thinki would be..

It's moral.
"Bad bacteria" are a threat to our health, and must be destroyed! Regular soap and water kills them as well.

r u serious?

According to my set of beliefs, it is moral, wannabe Ashley-Troll-who-is-not-even- vegan-and-has- admitted-to-asking-silly- questions-to-try-and- make-vegans-look-silly-too. I will answer this question not for YOU, but for the other people who may be reading the answers to your question.

They are now saying that using antibacterial soaps are not good because germs will eventually mutate to where we can't stop them anymore. Plain old soap is plenty fine to wash germs from your hands and if you really want to be sterile for a particular reason you can use rubbing alcohol.

Here's what Bill Nye has to say about the whole subject:

That is a little extreme, but anti-bacterial soaps are kind of pointless in my opinion anyway. Research has proven that not only are many bacteria becoming resistant to anti-bacterial cleansers, but that the length and vigor with which you wash your hands, not the soap you use- determines how clean your hands ultimately get.

good grief... no wonder people make fun of vegans

You are confusing moronic with moral. but i guess if you cant see the forrest through the trees this could be an issue for you. if you want to use the same logic then dont ever use any kind of soap when you shower and see how that helps your life. use common sense, you have to draw the line somewhere. I think you have gone way to far. good luck to you anyway.

Hahahahahahahahahaha...My my my.... So YOUR the reason Vegan get a bad rep

Ha ha!! You are kidding me - vegans don't really go to this extreme, do they? Maybe you should be out volunteering if you care that much about things.

Whether or not it's moral is immaterial. What's problematic is this: by using antibacterial soap, you're killing good bacteria along with bad, and bad bacteria will be able to mutate into forms that are resistant to the antibacterial soaps. The alcohol that is in many antibacterial products (especially the soap-free gels) are also very drying on your hands.

For washing hands, a good scrubbing with ordinary soap does it If she doesn't have access to soap and water, there are handwipes with tea-tree oil and other essential oils that work in a pinch.

People still believe the self-admitted troll is for real?

ur kiddin right?
oh so u dont wash your face or body and be rotten and pimply

what kind of dumb-*** question is that?
Unless you yourself are some crazy plant-human that can go through photosynthesis (or are anorexic), you have to eat plants. they're more complex then any bacteria

is there no end to stupidity?

I think your friend is probably more of a flexetarian vegan like myself.

Flexetarian vegans like myself are clean and don't smell like the standard vegan.

Nice to see you've fished out a couple of your fellow trolls.

Do you have ANY life ?
