Which is better farm raised fish and wild fish ( in the stores to buy) and why?!

Question: Both are good. The wild is probably better for the environment, it thins out the weak ones and makes the herd "school" stronger.

Wild fish is much better.

Farm raised fish eat more grain and less algae.

Its the algae that creates omega 3 not the fish.

Grain fed fish is higher in omega 6 and lesser in omega 3.

its the same with cattle, when they are fed grain based feed as opposed to grass based feed.

however, neither are even in the slightest bit vegetarian :/

Some fish obviously cannot be farmed such as shark, tuna, swordfish etc so the are always "wild". For farmed fish. I usually I buy from trusted suppliers not stores. I also buy smoked salmon online from reputable stores because I trust the pocessing rather than a "wild or not wild" issue.

Shouldn't be under Vegetarian & Vegan. But if you have to ask. Wild is better because farm raised fish are raised in polluted water and un-natural diet (to give them desirable color or/and to make them grow faster).

If they keep fishing our oceans, there will one day be barely enough fish to feed anyone.

Any kind of fish is bad....eeewww!

Well they all contain fat and cholesterol so my vote it: NEITHER.

You would get better answers by asking in a category where people ate fish. Vegetarians and vegans don't eat fish.
