You don't have to eat just the avocado or the banana by itself... Coming up with calorie-rich foods with a restricted diet can be tough, but it is definitely possible. For ex., you can mash banana, mix it with gluten-free flour (links provided below), and make banana pancakes. You can add slices of avocado or homemade guacamole and add it to a salad, or put it in a sandwich.

Your best bet for g-free products would be a health-food store. Also, if you have a Trader Joe's near you, they print out a list of g-free products they carry to make shopping more convenient.

Finally, if going raw, then you can purchase a cookbook. Robin Jones, who owns the store The Living Temple (http://www.thelivingtemple.com/) in Huntington Beach, CA, might be of assistance. He has books, video tapes, and seminars for raw foodists. Super-friendly guy... you can give him a call, and I'm sure he can help you out.

Best wishes! :)

wel i put avocado on a bowl put sme milk , sugar and ice trust me its soo good!!!!

I can't get behind the whole raw food idea. Sounds like massive indigestion to me. Some foods, such as tomatoes, are much more nutritious when cooked (and I'm allergic to raw tomatoes myself, so I never eat them.)

As far as avocadoes and bananas, whip them into smoothies or soup...you'll still taste them a little, but the texture will be better.

Also, look into gluten-free breads, cookies, cakes, etc.

You could do the other stuff, but if you only eat raw food, you're probably going to end up severely malnourished. Don't make your diet any harder than it has to be.

And eat some beans. COOKED beans, that is. Can you eat beans? Beans are good. Also, soy products and soy/rice milks, tofu, that sort of thing. Not tempeh, but tofu should be OK.

But the raw food idea is going way too far. You'll limit yourself so much that you won't get the nutrition you need. I mean, you can eat some raw fruits or vegetables, but you need grains (not wheat, but grains without gluten), beans, and protein products to keep your diet healthy.

You don't need to totally like the food you eat just be able to tolerate it, then you can add a sprinkle of sugar (this goes good on most fruits) and/or salt, pepper, mustard, etc... And this will change the overall taste to something palatable.

can we all say soy mild smoothies?

ps its real hard to digest uncooked plant protein, (SOY and beans) REAL hard

If you can't eat nuts, you're going to have a very difficult time being a raw foodie. Many raw food recipes have nuts in them for protein, number one, and for a hearty texture, number two. Plus, you will not get nearly the calories you need on such a restrictive diet.

Best to have a gluten-free vegan diet (which can be done). You can make soy milk (or rice milk) smoothies with bananas and another fruit. Google "gluten-free vegan" for more ideas.
