Okay. If you're a strict vegetarian, you technically can't eat the flesh anything from the animal kingdom. Insects are animals, just like birds and fish are. A lot of people, I think, get confused about that. (That's why vegetarians sometimes get, "Do you eat fish?" or "Can you have chicken?") I think a lot of people immediately think of mammals when they think of animals. All mammals are animals, but not all animals are mammals.

But vegans can and do eat bugs, just like meat eaters. We swallow them in our sleep, they land on our food and get stuck. I guess the best answer is that vegans wouldn't intentionally eat bugs.

Well on Andromeda some of us do eat Bugs, but most prefer pickled BMW's. We also import dried Honda Civics for pet food.

No. Well, in my opinion. You shouldn't eat bugs either way. Bugs are good because the good bugs eat the bad bugs, its a natural cycle. They aren't menaces. You just have to make sure the moths stay outside so they don't eat your clothing. Its your own fault if one gets inside. Humans really shouldn't eat bugs anyway unless desperate. & When I say desperate I mean stranded on a desert island desperate.

Ah ...no. Is a bug a living creature? Yeeessss. So since vegetarians don't eat living creatures then why the heck would you think that we would eat bugs. Ewwwww.

Get a grip.

no.

If you are vegan for your health, it is ok to eat bugs. But if you are vegan for your compassinate aspiration of saving beings, do not eat.

a vegan can eat whatever they want it's a choice not to eat animal products. and NO vegans don't eat bugs (that's just gross) and in fact most vegans don't eat honey either.

No..
A bug is from an animal..
vegan do not use or eat anything from an animal..

besides..a bug would be still considered "meat"
bugs are animals..and they have flesh..so they are meat
like Fish is ALSO!

This can be related to the debate among some vegans about honey. While the majority saw honey is not vegan some say it is okay because a bee is not an animal. Using the logic from this debate, if you conclude a bee and other creepy crawlies are animals, then you should not eat them. The majority of vegans avoid honey and coloring in makeup, etc made from beetles, but again some don't.

No, bugs are animals. What kind of bugs are you talking about, anyway? Do YOU eat bugs?

I guess it might happen unintentionally if an insect flew in somebody's mouth.

If you eat flies and spiders on purpose that's not vegan, it's called the "Renfield Diet."

No you can't because bugs are in a sense in the animal kingdom and vegans don't eat animals purposely.

Only the ones in your produce.

no. those are living being, right?

well a vegan doesnt eat meat or dairy and since bugs are neither one of these, Im sure you could, although I dont know why on earth you would want to...
