How many other vegans do you know?!
But I am doing this for health reasons. I want to lose weight and be healthier and this will do it.
Answers: I feel alone. No one else I know is and everyone is making me feel dumb because I am. And I am new to this so I have eaten meat my whole life.

I know about 10-15 other vegans. Luckilly I live in a very Vegan-friendly place, but if you want to meet more you could go on veggiedate.com...there are a lot of people on there just looking to meet people for friends and activity partners.
Going Vegan for any reason is great, but I've found that people who want to do it to lose weight or for health reasons tend to give it up pretty quickly while those who are in it for ethical reasons tend to stick with it. This isn't meant to discourage you...I just suggest you look into the animal rights/ethical issues, since you are already in Vegan mode...and it may help you stick to your guns...
Good Luck
I know zero other vegans personally. But you are not alone - you can see there are a lot of us here! Even though they don't get it, my friends and family respect my choice. If someone is making you feel dumb, just politely ask them to respect your choice. I don't think they can argue with that.
I know of one, but she's not a close friend.
i know a vegetarian!
im not trying to give you crap, just help...
since you are trying to be healthy, vegatarian is GREAT, but vegan is bad, because you can get 98% of proteins from protein substitutes like tofu and tempe, but you can only get 2% of ESSENTAIL proteins from animal products, like milk, and cheese\
but either way, i support you!
My daughter and myself are vegetarians, she is in school so it is harder for her. Hang in there, it is a good decision.
Unfortunately, I know 4 personally, and three are in my immediate family...one is slipping though. Something about anemia and low CBCs.
I'm vegitarian but not vegan allthough I think vegans are cool! More power to you.
Oh and I dont know any full fledged vegans.
the only vegan i have ever known was the head of my primary school
My oldest is vegan and we support her decision. Although as a Nurse I must let you know that being vegan does not guarantee weight loss, there are just as many obese vegans as non vegans. It's about portion size and nutrition as well as exercise. Meat does not make you fat, unhealthy diet does.
I don't have that problem.
You should try the flexetarian diet out.
