Answers: i heard that most vegetarians feel alot more energized and happier...is that true...if your a vegetarian how do you feel.

For me, that holds true. Since cutting back on the meat, overall i've had more energy. When I first cut meat, I was very weak and became dehydrated because I jumped right into it and i didn't have a well balanced diet. But now i do have more stability.

Very well thanks

I'm a vegan and feel just great! I have a lot more energy than I used to and I don't suffer from allergies or eczema anymore. In fact, I haven't even had a cold once since giving up meat and I used to get them all the time!

Flexterian Vegan,

Meat is not a food group. Don't believe me? Check it out for yourself.

I've been a Vegetarian for 9 years. But it's more what I do eat then what I don't. Also, it has a lot to do with when and how I eat. Just avoiding meat doesn't give you energy or improve your health. It's also eating the right amount of fruits and vegetables, eating proper food combinations and surprisingly what time of the day I eat. If you have a large heavy meal late at night, your body works over time digesting it and it can affect your sleep which can deplete your energy levels. The digestion of food is the most demanding function of the human body. A great book on this is called "Fit For Life", by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond. It used to be really popular and lots of people bought it back in the early '80s. Not surpisingly you can now find it in almost any thrift store. It's very informative and amazingly even though it is over 20 years old it still applies today. Sorry for the long-winded response-- Guess I have too much energy! --- wow, that's cheesy.

I feel awesome.
I am the healthiest I've been in years and I'm just getting healthier.
I abstain from all animal products and try to eat a lot of raw fruits and vegetables.

FIVE ALARM: I agree about digestion. That book is very good and taught me a lot. In fact, it was reading that book that first got me on the path to more natural eating before I went veg. the only thing I really disagree with is the part about distilled wter. I did a LOT of research and concluded it is probably not a good idea to drink it exclusively. After all, Nature puts minerals in water where we would naturally get it from (streams and rivers) so I believe they must be necessary.

i used to feel crappy but i found out i wasn't eating right. had to eat more balanced

I feel fine, thank you for asking. Note that a vegetarian diet is not necessarily a healthy diet. Cool Whip and beer could be a vegetarian diet, but I don't recommend it.

Many vegetarians get into a rut of eating a lot of pasta and cheese, for the same reason that omnivores get into a rut of eating a lot of hamburgers - because it's cheap and easy. But it's not particularly healthy. You really have to make an effort to load up on the broccoli, drink lots of water, and exercise. Then you'll feel good.

My healthiest ever. Although it is a LIFESTYLE choice, not just simply a certain menu. Eating vegan is a great thing, but you also need to exercise, sleep enough, have healthy relationships, and a spiritual life. It all comes together.

I have to agree with everyone else...I feel great being vegan. I have more energy than I used to and I hardly ever get sick. Even more important to me however, is that I feel better about the food I am eating. When I used to eat meat, even though it may have tasted good, I always knew on some level that it wasn't right. I think I get a lot more pleasure out of food now, because I know that it is compassionate and nutritious.

I have done vegetarian diets on and off (the first time when I was 16, which lasted three months but didn't go so well thanks to a meat-eating pushy mom, the second this year for four months (had to stop because I was losing a lot of weight), and now since its been three weeks I'm trying once again, hopefully this time I can stick with it).

I have felt more energized, although I do get hungrier as well. Happier? I don't know about that, i do miss my burgers and hot dogs once in a while....(can't always opt for a veggie burger/dogs in some places so I usually have to pick something that's both meatless AND healthy). But I'm a vegetarian because I want to lose weight and stay thin, but that's just my own motives.

That's the buzz they get off the self righteous blunt they are smoking.

I just got back onto the veg wagon (finally broke the wife down), but I was a vegetarian in the past, and I can't express how good I felt. In about 2-3 months, I dropped 30 lbs, got down to about 11% body fat, and had so much energy that I trained for a marathon, completed that, and did a 134 mile relay race around the island of Oahu. All of my friends and co-workers thought I was on crack because of the amazing amount of energy I had. I was never hungry, and don't think I got sick at all. If you're not a vegetarian, I would suggest just trying for a couple weeks. You WILL feel it in that short amount of time. Enjoy the energy.

I feel HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!
Haha, it's true.
And more energized?
I'm not sure about that one...

Sick.

The whole point of my becoming vegan was for athletic performance and as a result, it worked. Need less sleep. Never depressed anymore since, hardly ever sick -- get a cold once very few years... sometimes 5 years between... so, yeah feel a lot better. Acne disappeared. My eyes changed colour, from very dark brown to green/hazel. And my find felt as if a cloud that I didn't know was there was lifted... I went from a typical N. American eat anything and everything diet to pretty much the complete opposite. High level endurance athletics really helps with being able to see a difference very quickly, as I think that couch potatoes would see differences at a much slower rate... even years instead of weeks or months.

I think it's true. After I became a vegetarian I have a lot more energy and I overall feel healthier. I feel great! I've lost 23 pounds too. I did it mainly for the animals, losing weight and being healthier are just some of the perks. I also don't get hungry as much for some reason, probably because I eat organic food when possible so I don't have as many chemicals affecting me. Now my little brother just decided to go vegetarian a couple weeks ago :0)

i feel 100% better consciously and physically but like youve heard before its what you eat if you dont get enough protien being a vegetarian then you probably wont feel that good. i eat lots of peanut butter, soy, beans, and starting tofu.

Like superman. I eat a balanced diet of all of the food groups.
Most veggies are sickly, balding, and real pasty looking. Myself being a flexetarian, I don't get the downside.

Andro I have reviewed my answer and find that I said nothing about meat.
