Non-milk; Non-Egg Diet?!

Question: We just found out that my youngest son is allergic to milk and eggs. I'm doing pretty well switching our diet to accommodate, but am looking for some quick and easy breakfast recipes or pre-packaged breakfasts (if that exists) to meet our needs. Do you have any good tasting suggestions? Thanks!

I found some websites that special in cooking for people with allergies. This one, you select the ingredients to leave out and select the category or course you are looking for. I tried it quite a few recipes for waffles, muffins, that sort of thing. Some of them sounded quite good. You could make ahead & freeze - then microwave to make it fast in the mornings. They have recipes for all meals. It is worth a look.

This one has recipes for brownies with no eggs or milk:

Here is a cookbook available at Amazon and other bookstores:

Good luck!

I eat hot oatmeal each morning with out using milk. You can get the Quaker Oats in packages and just add 1/2 cup hot water to a package, let it sit a minute or two. Quaker also has different flavors. I usually have a piece of toast with it.

A person can live very well without eggs and milk. Fresh or canned fruits make wonderful desserts. And don't forget jellies and jams on a piece of toast for a dessert. We often just eat a graham cracker with peanut butter for dessert. :o)

there are alot of fairly good prepackaged selections in an upper scale grocery store organic frozen food section one brand name that comes to mind and i'm pretty sure they make dairyless and eggless preps "ANNIE'S" - i was dairyless and no meat fish or eggs for a long time. if you really look at your "Whole Foods" type of stores - i am pretty sure Whole Foods has a web site so you could located a store near by. at any rate whole foods is not the only store to carry the Annie's brand - where i live is rural and the local grocery store has Annie's dairyless frozen burritos. it's not that hard to be dairyless and eggless ( scramble tofu), ya just have to do your homework. hope this helps oh i'm still no meat fish or eggs-in fact i am participating in a program this Thanksgiving to teach folks that they can eat veggie and still celebrate Thanksgiving in style! Happy Holidaze!

Allergic? Very odd.
If you read about mammals, none consume milk after they have done with the breast milk. No mammal, human or otherwise, is supposed to consume milk in any form after breastfeeding is over.

Eggs... never heard of an egg allergy. Could be something in or on the egg that is unnatural. Most all eggs are coming from sickly chickens too.

Kids love Rice Dream drink. There are all sorts of non-dairy beverages out there. Vita Soy is another good one. Have you ever been to the health food store... all sorts of dairy and egg free mayo, buttery spread, cheese, ... just endless. Tonnes of pre-packaged stuff for breakfast... there's a whole isle of healthy cereals etc.

My daughter loves oatmeal with malt on it (malt is sweet but digests like a complex carb so so sugar high/low). Just cook it with lots of water to make it really nice and creamy. Can put seeds and nuts in there too. Sometimes we put peas in there too. She loves it, and so do I. Malt, cane sugar, and palm sugar (all good stuff) is available at Asian Chinese markets. Not to mention, Asians generally do not consume dairy or put egg in ingredients, so easy pickings at the Asian market.

There are no rules for breakfast. No reason not to have noodles, pasta, potatoes, soup, whatever the guy likes. Around the world most people eat leftover dinner from the night before, so it's not like you have to conform to the N. American idea of breakfast -- give the guy food he loves to eat.
