i don't freeze dry fruits (they get slimy) but my daughter and i make lots of fruit roll ups using a dehydrator (thanks to that infomercial . My daughter pestered me about it for weeks until i finally gave up and bought one. Turned out quite well I must confess) She has them all the time for snacks specially after school, sometimes as dessert. She's 8 now but she's had them since she was 3. wife also likes to bring the to work for those "no time to go to the cafeteria" moments. I eat them when I run out of Reese's cups.

I agree with the choking hazard especially with younger kids. And fresh is still better.

Ps i am not a vegehead though.

they're perfect for toddlers!

they are decently healthy, but watch your child with them becuz of choking.

great alot less sugar

Yes but fresh fruit is better.

Dried fruit (whether freeze-dried or regular dried) is nutritious, but not as nutritious as fruit dried at low temperatures and certainly not as good as fresh fruit. Part of what makes fruit so good for you is the water content.

Fruit is great. Fresh is much better than processed. If you get processed instead of fresh, check the "Nutrition Facts" label to see what chemicals have been added. Additives are not natural, and you may want to avoid them. If you can afford it, fresh organic fruits are the best of all.

Well, must be better than beef jerky, but what's wrong with fresh fruit? Never met a kid that doesn't like fresh fruit. Make it organic too; kids can tell the difference between organic an non-organic, at least my daughter can.

It isn't as nutritious as the fresh stuff but it is still very healthy and should be fine for a toddler.
