Is there a vegetarian stuffing?!

Question: I'm talking the easy kind, not making it from scratch. If you get the sage or herb kind, has it been made with animal products.

I had no problem finding one. I bought pepperidge farm herb seasoned, checked the ingredients, and did not see any meat listed or animal broth.. It's the easy kind, as well..

Just check the ingredients. If you don't see any of the following words, it's probably fine

lard
gelatin
beef
pork
chicken
turkey

That's not stuffing! You hippies have redefined stuffing! bleh! Report It

  • I wouldn't think so. Unless you get Chicken or Turkey dressing. Sage dressing should be yummy!

Make and season your own bread for it, add veggy broth, and seasonings. Mushrooms, onions, carrots, celery. Just substitute, should be no problem to make.

You can buy the bread cubes, and make it yourself. I know it's not instant, but "real" stuffing is pretty easy. Use veggie stock...bulk it up with sauteed mushrooms. Saute celery and onions until soft, about 5 mins, add bread cubes, a little olive oil, and stock. Add sauteed mushrooms...and bake it up. 15 minutes worth of work there for something you can call homemade! Happy Thanksgiving!

Stuffing is made from bread, dressing is made from cornbread. Dressing is made with meat, Stuffing is not.
    Recipe for Sage stuffing.
Loaf of bread, set out to stale
    Tear bread into small bits
    Chop 2 stalks of celery
    chop 1 onion
    generously use sage
Place in pan to bake and add 1 stick of butter
Bake at 300 until browned and crusted

Yes, there is suck thing as vegetarian stuffing. You can buy it where the seasonings are just that. Seasonings. They are not chicken or turkey seasonings.

Yes. I make it every year.

I buy the stuffing bread mix and add mushroom and knorr veggie bullion instead of meat and beef broth. Everyone loves.
Saute, onions, celery, carrots and mushrooms in olive oil.
When cooked add bag of stuffing mix. Add the veggie bullion melted in hot water. 1 for every cup of water.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

As all vegetarians need stuffing, I'm sure there is. Ken

Yes, plenty. check out the ready make packets in general supermarkets - there are many veggie ones.

Into WHAT would you be stuffing this stuffing? You stuff stuffing into a bird, usually, down the likes of a turkey if you are a traditionalist but you are one of those "look at me! I am a vegetarian!" types.

What's the point of eating STUFFing if you aren't going to STUFF it into something to cook it? The POINT of stuffing is cooking it while you are cooking the meat: killing two birds with one oven! *laughter*
