Can't return Liquor in California?!
Answers: I brought some in a California grocery store and try to return it unopen and with a reciept. They told me its California law ,I can't return liquor,is this true?
BS. You can certainly return food items including liquor. I used to work at a grocery store and we did returns on food all the time. I never saw anyone try and return liquor though, but that law doesn't seem to have any logic.
Since it is considered a food product i don't think you can return it anywhere, not just Cali. Same with opened underwear and DVDs.. though I don't recommend eating the those. Save the liquor it doesn't go bad (in a reasonable about of time) and New Years is around the bend.
From random grocery store return policy:
No food items (including drug related products) will be accepted back into our distribution centers. This is to prevent any potential issues with product tampering or a shortened spoilage dates. Our overall goal is the safety of our customers.
