Margarita Recipe - w/ Everclear?!

Question:

Margarita Recipe - w/ Everclear?

I am making margaritas for my Cinco de Mayo Party- and I'm using my Jose Cuervo Margarita ball and the recipe says 6 1-liter bottles of mix and 2 750ml bottle of Tequila. This is supposed to make 40 6oz drinks (I think).

Now, I want to add some Everclear to this for just a little extra kick. How much? I have a 375ml bottle of Everclear.

A local restaurant has to notoriously strong margaritas, and they're rumored to add either 151 or 100 proof vodka to theirs, so I'm just kinda looking to do the same thing they do, same basica margarita concept, but with a kick.

Answers:
If you omit tequila and use vodka instead, in any rita recipe, you have a kamikazee. Everclear is like a kick *** strong vodka.
So you can call them kamiritas or margakazees!
I say add to taste! If it's good, go for it.
Make your ritas per recipe and then add Everclear in small doses until you think it's okay.
Be careful around those who smoke! lol

Oh honey..no. No vodka in margaritas..just..no. Adjust the amounts of tequila if you have to.

You maybe should rethink this. Alcohol is best enjoyed as an enhancement to life. When it starts to kick I think it is past the point of enhancement and entering a risky zone. If your guests get out of control or hurt or killed, guess you may be kicking yourself. Best plan is to go with regular recipe for Margaritas. Wonderful flavor that Jose Cuervo. Don't spoil it with other alcohols.

leave the Everclear out of the equation entirely...that's just me!

Margaritas are made only with tequila. If they are made with other ingredients, they have a different name.

Sour mix with lime juice and tequila is a margarita.
Sour mix with rum is called a daqcuiri.

Forget the Everclear. If you want a little extra kick add a little more Tequila. If you have people that want to screw up the Margarita sit the Everclear on the side and let them add it.

im not sure, but i believe that one should never mix everclear and other liquors, i think the bottle says that. plus a margarita has a certain taste due to the elements that make it, and so adding everclear would be damaging the taste.

plus if you do these, make sure you dont care about your furniture because some people may throw up before reaching the bathroom
