Why do you need a driver's license to buy liquor when you can't drink and drive?!

Question: you don't need a driver's license, you just need some form of photo ID that identifies you as at least 21 years old. It just so happens that the driver's license is the most common form of identification that meets these standards.

You can also buy alcohol with a state ID. The state ID doesn't allow you to drive (because you haven't or can't pass the test), but it certifies that you are a certain age and that you live in that state.

Some places also accept a military ID for the same reasons.

They need to see if you are under aged or something like that and yah they don't want you to drink and drive because it will hurt others but n ot sure why they need a drivers license
GOOD QUESTION

Because it is a government issued photo ID with your date of birth to certify that you are the legal age.

It's just to make sure you're old enough to buy liquor and if you are then you know not to drink it until you get home.

You don't- you just need a government ID- you can use a passport, driver's license, or state issued ID.

uhh wow are u serious, u need either a valid ID or Drivers License, to prove your age DUH
