What is the best recipe for homade Kahlua?

1 quart water
2? cups sugar
3 tablespoons instant coffee
1 tablespoon vanilla
2? cups vodka
1. Boil water, coffee, sugar.
2. Simmer for 3 hours (stirring frequently).
3. Let cool and add vanilla and vodka.
4. Bottle and cap tightly.

No. I believe almost all Liqueurs are made with "Everclear", that tasteless 99% corn stuff. Otherwise, mortals recipe sounds fine, but its probably not really Kahlua. So, substitute, that and also brew up some nicer coffee instead of just using instant, replace that quart of water with a quart of real coffee.
The key to any recipe is to experiment. Experiment.
