Answers:
You didn't mention which price range so I'm going to assume that money is no object. Here is my list of some (not an exhaustive list) of the most rediculously great sweet wines in the world:

White Wines:

Domaine Huet Vouvray Cuvee Constance

Chateau d'Yquem Sauternes

JJ Prum Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese

Egon Muller Scharzhofberger Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese

Zind-Humbrecht Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Vendange Tardives and Selection de Grains Nobles (Clos Windsbuhl, Rangen, Heimbourg, etc.)

Baumard Quarts de Chaume

Red Wines:

Taylor's Vintage Port

Fonseca's Vintage Port

Niepoort Colheita

Quinta do Noval Nacional Vintage Port

Quintarelli Recioto

The only wines listed under $100 on release are the Baumard and some of the ports. But they aren't ready to drink for decades (with good storage). Many of the others are quite a bit more expensive, up to the several hundreds of dollars a bottle.

In Oz try Brown Brothers 'Moscato'....yum!

hi,

try a 2002 Petit-Vedrines, Sauternes. It is a french dessert wine and runs around $11.00 a bottle. If you want something different, get one that has bortritis (sorry for spelling). It changes the flavor a little, but makes for a interesting dessert wine.

In my experience anything that is made in Italy is a great dessert wine.

Try Piesporter -- its very good.

try port wine( if you are into red dessert wines). But if you like sweet white wine, nothing still beats Inniskillin's Icewine. It has lots of kinds like vidal, reisling, cabernet franc and they do have sparkling wine. This wine is featured too on Food network challenge! Superb wine!

The BEST dessert wine is "Moscato D'asti". It is really beautiful, even for people who say they don't like dessert wines! It is a lightly sparkling intense but natural flavor and not super sweet, like most French and other dessert wines.

Also, most Ice wines are good, but more expensive and not as much fun as Moscato D'asti.

My favorite dessert wine is an ice wine from the finger lakes region of New York. It is Borealis, made at Lakewood Vineyards. It is fantastic! Not too expensive either-I know it is under $15 a bottle, but I can't remember the exact price. Also good: the fruit wines from Glenora, also from the finger lakes.

My favorite dessert wines are Ports. One of my favorites is from a small, family owned winery in Lodi, California called St. Amant Vintage Port. It's not produced every year because they only make a vintage port if the grapes are just right. It is a wonderful wine made in the traditional Portugese method.

A fun fruity dessert wine to try is Bonny Doon NV Framboise Infusion of Raspberries (half-bottle) - Fruit Wines Dessert WineExplosions of raspberry - a delightful wine. ($12.99)

Martin Weyrich Muscatto Allegro.

I have to recommendations for you:

1. Charles Krug Zinfandel Port, Napa, California
2. Any icewine from Pillitteri Estate Winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada.
