I want to know more about beer kegs?!

Question:

I want to know more about beer kegs?

I know that most of the time you "rent" them and they come in different sizes, but how long does the beer stay good and any more information anyone has would be great!

Answers:
The beer you choose determines the cost of the keg, as well. Better beer, more expensive. Cheaper keg, lower quality beer. Coors light, almost free. That's because Coors light is, in fact, piss. And you can keep it .4 degrees above frezzing, and it won't stay good. Because it was never good to begin with.

Coors light blows.

If you keep it cold, the beer can last several months

I know a half keg.. college kegs

weigh 165 lbs and hold about 164 beer cans worth of alcohol

The beer will only stay fresh for several hours, so if you want to finish one off in the morning it is best to liven one up with a few bottles of fresh beer.
It will taste OK, it will just be flat.

There are now kegs that can be pressurised so they will last longer before going flat.

Keep it iced down with the tapper in place. When you get up the next morning, add more ice to the container you're chilling it in. If you keep the keg cold and sealed, it'll stay good for a good long time.

Keeping it fresh really depends. If you have kegirator or large refrigerator to keep it in and have CO2 attached up to a month for sure. If you are just keeping it one ICE if you keep the keg pumped (if you don't have CO2) and iced you can keep it alive for a few days. A friend and I kept a keg that we didn't kick at a party alive for a few days. You always leave a deposit they are meant to be recycled and used again. Most places where you can rent them you can rent the tap as well. Some places sells the taps for you as well. Good luck. Side note Guinness and a few other specialties use nitrogen and not CO2

For as long as you keep it chilled usually.
