in addition to what everyone else is saying, with beer there's also the carbonated effect that goes on in your stomach. for some people, making them feel full or giving them an upset stomach. drinking shots isn't going to give you the same effect and you can drink a lot less of that and get just as messed up as you would by drinking 10 beers or more.

No advantage at all Hard liquor called spirits has a lot higher alcohol content and it is usually sipped over a longer time . It won't take many to mess you up. The cost has no advantage as spirits are a lot dearer but you drink a lot less

Some people don't like beer. I've found a few mixed drinks I did like, but then again there's so many beers to try...

Generally, if I'm drinking beer you can expect me to stop by 4, as it starts to mess with my stomach the next day. Mixed drinks is what I'll have to get really drunk, or a combination. I also see nothing wrong with having a $12 bottle of wine, which is obviously the most expensive way to go.

1 ounce of hard liqour has the same alcohol as 12ounces of beer. so it all depends how much and how fast you drink.
cost of a bottle and mix, and a case of beer is roughly the same. so the only advantage is flavor, and that is different for everybody.
